خلصت لجنة تحقيق تابعة للأمم المتحدة، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، إلى أن إسرائيل ترتكب إبادة جماعية في غزة، وأن كبار المسؤولين الإسرائيليين، بمن فيهم رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو والرئيس الإسرائيلي إسحاق هرتسوغ ووزير الدفاع السابق يوآف غالانت حرضوا على هذه الأفعال.
واستشهدت اللجنة بأمثلة لدعم النتائج التي خلصت إليها بشأن الإبادة الجماعية، منها حجم عمليات قتل الفلسطينيين، وعرقلة المساعدات، والنزوح القسري، وتدمير مركز للخصوبة، ما يضيف صوتها إلى جماعات حقوق الإنسان وغيرها من المنظمات التي توصلت إلى نفس النتيجة.
أدلة دامغة
واستعرضت اللجنة أدلة تضمنت مقابلات مع ضحايا وشهود وأطباء ووثائق مفتوحة المصدر تم التحقق منها وتحليل صور الأقمار الصناعية التي تم جمعها منذ بدء الحرب.
وأشارت إلى أن تصريحات لنتنياهو ومسؤولين آخرين تعد دليلا مباشرا على نية الإبادة الجماعية، مبينة أن رسالة كتبها إلى جنود إسرائيليين في نوفمبر 2023، شبه فيها عملية غزة بما وصفته اللجنة بأنها «حرب مقدسة للإبادة الشاملة» في العهد القديم.
وقالت رئيسة لجنة التحقيق الدولية المستقلة المعنية بالأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة القاضية السابقة في المحكمة الجنائية الدولية نافي بيلاي، إن «إبادة جماعية تحدث في غزة»، مضيفة: «تقع المسؤولية عن هذه الجرائم المروعة على عاتق السلطات الإسرائيلية على أعلى المستويات التي قادت حملة إبادة جماعية منذ نحو عامين بهدف محدد هو القضاء على الفلسطينيين في غزة».
انتهاك صارخ
من جهة أخرى، وصف مفوض الأمم المتحدة السامي لحقوق الإنسان فولكر تورك، الهجوم الإسرائيلي الذي استهدف قادة من حركة حماس في العاصمة القطرية الدوحة بأنه اعتداء مباشر على السلام والاستقرار في المنطقة وانتهاكاً صارخاً للقانون الدولي، معرباً عن إدانته للهجوم.
وقال تورك، خلال كلمة ألقاها أمام مجلس حقوق الإنسان في جنيف الذي انعقد في جلسة طارئة اليوم، لمناقشة الاعتداء ا لإسرائيلي على الدوحة: «إن الهجوم الذي شنّته إسرائيل على المفاوضين في الدوحة في 9 سبتمبر هو انتهاك صادم للقانون الدولي، واعتداء على السلام والاستقرار الإقليميين، وضربة ضد نزاهة عمليات الوساطة والتفاوض حول العالم».
A United Nations investigation committee concluded today (Tuesday) that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, and that senior Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli President Isaac Herzog, and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, incited these actions.
The committee cited examples to support its findings regarding genocide, including the scale of killings of Palestinians, obstruction of aid, forced displacement, and the destruction of a fertility center, adding its voice to human rights groups and other organizations that have reached the same conclusion.
Compelling Evidence
The committee reviewed evidence that included interviews with victims, witnesses, doctors, verified open-source documents, and analysis of satellite images collected since the war began.
It noted that statements made by Netanyahu and other officials serve as direct evidence of the intent to commit genocide, pointing out that a message he wrote to Israeli soldiers in November 2023 compared the Gaza operation to what the committee described as a "holy war for total extermination" in the Old Testament.
Former International Criminal Court judge Navi Pillay, chair of the independent international commission of inquiry on the occupied Palestinian territory, stated, "Genocide is occurring in Gaza," adding, "The responsibility for these horrific crimes lies with the Israeli authorities at the highest levels who have led a campaign of genocide for nearly two years with the specific aim of eliminating Palestinians in Gaza."
Flagrant Violation
On another note, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk described the Israeli attack targeting leaders of Hamas in the Qatari capital, Doha, as a direct assault on peace and stability in the region and a flagrant violation of international law, expressing his condemnation of the attack.
During a speech he delivered before the Human Rights Council in Geneva, which convened in an emergency session today to discuss the Israeli assault on Doha, Turk stated, "The attack launched by Israel on negotiators in Doha on September 9 is a shocking violation of international law, an assault on regional peace and stability, and a blow against the integrity of mediation and negotiation processes worldwide."
