في حين أكدت مصادر طبية فلسطينية مقتل 47 شخصاً في غارات إسرائيلية على عدة مناطق في غزة منذ فجر اليوم (الجمعة)، بينهم 7 من منتظري المساعدات، أعلن جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بدء العمليات التمهيدية والمراحل الأولية للهجوم الموسع المخطط له على القطاع المحاصر.
وقال جيش الاحتلال إنه يعمل حالياً بقوة كبيرة على مشارف المدينة، موضحاً أن الوقف التكتيكي للنشاط العسكري لن يُطبَّق في مدينة غزة التي اعتبرها منطقة قتال خطرة.
وفي الوقت ذاته، ذكرت القناة الـ12 أن جيش الاحتلال أجلى جثة الأسير إيلان فايس من قطاع غزة.
من جهة أخرى، قال وزير الخارجية الإسباني خوسيه مانويل ألباريس، اليوم: «سنطرح خطة أوروبية لوقف الحرب في غزة، وسنقترح إجراءات عاجلة لمواجهة المجاعة»، داعياً إلى توسيع قائمة العقوبات ضد معرقلي السلام.
وأشار إلى أنه سيطلب منع بيع أسلحة أوروبية لإسرائيل، مؤكداً أن حل الدولتين هو الطريق إلى السلام والاستقرار في الشرق الأوسط.
من جهته، وصف متحدث باسم الحكومة البريطانية قرار الحكومة الإسرائيلية بتصعيد عمليتها العسكرية في غزة بأنه خطأ، موضحاً أن الحل يجب أن يكون دبلوماسياً لإنهاء الحرب.
ودعا المتحدث باسم الحكومة البريطانية إلى وقف فوري لإطلاق النار، والإفراج عن الأسرى، وزيادة المساعدات لغزة، مبيناً أن بلاده لن تدعو أي وفد حكومي إسرائيلي إلى حضور المعرض العسكري في لندن.
وجاء ذلك فيما دعا 26 دبلوماسياً نمساوياً حكومتهم إلى فرض عقوبات على إسرائيل بسبب الحرب في غزة.
While Palestinian medical sources confirmed the death of 47 people in Israeli airstrikes on several areas in Gaza since dawn today (Friday), including 7 aid seekers, the Israeli occupation army announced the beginning of preliminary operations and the initial phases of the planned expanded attack on the besieged sector.
The occupation army stated that it is currently operating with significant force on the outskirts of the city, clarifying that the tactical halt of military activity will not be applied in Gaza City, which it considers a dangerous combat zone.
At the same time, Channel 12 reported that the occupation army evacuated the body of prisoner Ilan Weiss from the Gaza Strip.
On another note, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares stated today: "We will propose a European plan to stop the war in Gaza, and we will suggest urgent measures to combat famine," calling for an expansion of the list of sanctions against those obstructing peace.
He indicated that he would request a ban on the sale of European weapons to Israel, affirming that the two-state solution is the path to peace and stability in the Middle East.
For his part, a spokesperson for the British government described the Israeli government's decision to escalate its military operation in Gaza as a mistake, clarifying that the solution must be diplomatic to end the war.
The British government spokesperson called for an immediate ceasefire, the release of prisoners, and an increase in aid to Gaza, stating that his country would not invite any Israeli government delegation to attend the military exhibition in London.
This comes as 26 Austrian diplomats called on their government to impose sanctions on Israel due to the war in Gaza.
