فيما اقترح الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي أن تستضيف دول الخليج ودول أوروبية عدة وتركيا محادثات سلام مستقبلية مع روسيا، أكد المبعوث الأمريكي ستيف ويتكوف أن الرئيس دونالد ترمب يشعر بخيبة أمل من الحرب الروسية الأوكرانية؛ لأنه يعتقد أن هذه حربه، ولا يرى أن هناك حاجة لمواصلتها ويريد أن يتوقف الموت.
وأوضح ويتكوف خلال مقابلة مع شبكة «فوكس نيوز» أن التقدم الكبير في تسوية الصراع الأوكراني ناتج عن قمة ألاسكا بين الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين، ونظيره الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، مبيناً أن الولايات المتحدة تتوقع التوصل لتسوية بشأن أوكرانيا بحلول نهاية العام.
وقال المبعوث الأمريكي: «لدينا فرق فنية تعمل في هذا الإطار، ونأمل أن نكون، بحلول نهاية العام أو ربما قبل ذلك بكثير، قادرين على تحديد ما يتضمنه اتفاق السلام».
وكان الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي قد قال في خطابه المسائي المتلفز، أمس، إن محادثات مع ممثلي دول خليجية وأوروبية وتركيا ستُعقد خلال هذا الأسبوع، مضيفاً: من جانبنا، سيتم التحضير لكل شيء على أكمل وجه لإنهاء هذه الحرب.
ودعا زيلينسكي إلى مواصلة الضغط الدولي على موسكو، مشيراً إلى أن «الإشارات الوحيدة التي ترسلها روسيا تفيد بأنها تعتزم مواصلة التهرب من المفاوضات الحقيقية».
ودوت انفجارات عنيفة في مقاطعة دنيبروبتروفسك الأوكرانية، وفقاً لما ذكرته صحيفة «أوبشيستفونويه»، اليوم (الأربعاء)، مؤكدة تضرر مرافق عدة للبنية التحتية في مقاطعة سومي الأوكرانية جراء الانفجارات، إضافة إلى انقطاع في التيار الكهربائي.
وكتب رئيس الإدارة الإقليمية للمقاطعة أوليغ غريغوروف على «تليغرام»: حدثت أضرار في مرافق البنية التحتية، وخدمات الطوارئ تعمل هناك، مبيناً أن حريقاً اندلع في مؤسسة لقطاع الطاقة في مقاطعة بولتافا الأوكرانية وقُطع التيار الكهربائي عن المنازل جراء الانفجارات..
بالمقابل، أعلنت وزارة الدفاع الروسية أن أنظمة الدفاع الجوي دمرت 26 مسيرة أوكرانية في أجواء مقاطعات روستوف وأوريول وبيلغورود وبريانسك وكورسك.

Witkoff clarified during an interview with Fox News that significant progress in settling the Ukrainian conflict is a result of the Alaska summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump, indicating that the United States expects to reach a settlement regarding Ukraine by the end of the year.
The U.S. envoy stated, "We have technical teams working in this framework, and we hope that by the end of the year, or perhaps much earlier, we will be able to define what the peace agreement entails."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his televised evening address yesterday that talks with representatives from Gulf and European countries and Turkey will be held this week, adding: "On our part, everything will be prepared to the fullest to end this war."
Zelensky called for continued international pressure on Moscow, noting that "the only signals Russia is sending indicate that it intends to continue evading real negotiations."
Violent explosions were reported in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, according to the newspaper "Obshchestvennoye," today (Wednesday), confirming damage to several infrastructure facilities in the Sumy region of Ukraine due to the explosions, in addition to power outages.
The head of the regional administration for the area, Oleg Grigorov, wrote on Telegram: "Damage occurred to infrastructure facilities, and emergency services are working there," indicating that a fire broke out at an energy sector facility in the Poltava region of Ukraine, and power was cut off to homes due to the explosions.
In contrast, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that air defense systems destroyed 26 Ukrainian drones in the airspace of the Rostov, Oryol, Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk regions.
