أقر الجيش الأوكراني اليوم (الثلاثاء) بدخول القوات الروسية إلى منطقة دنيبروبيتروفسك في وسط أوكرانيا، نافياً ما اعلنته موسكو عن سيطرت قواتها بالكامل على قريتي زابوريزكه ونوفوجورجييفكا.
وقال متحدث باسم «مجموعة قوات دنيبرو العملياتية الاستراتيجية» التابعة للجيش فيكتور بريغوبوف: نعم، لقد دخلوا، والقتال متواصل.
وكان الجيش الروسي قد قال لأول مرة في يوليو الماضي إن قواته تقدمت في تلك المنطقة وسيطرت على بعض البلدات دون إعلان رسمي بالسيطرة عليها بالكامل.
وتحرز القوات الروسية تقدماً تدريجياً في معارك مكلفة للسيطرة على مناطق مدمَّرة بشكل كبير، في شرق وجنوب أوكرانيا، غالباً ما تكون مهجورة تقريباً، ولا تعد دنيبروبيتروفسك واحدة من المناطق الأوكرانية الخمس، دونيتسك وخيرسون ولوغانسك وزابوريجيا وشبه جزيرة القرم - التي أعلنت موسكو ضمها.
بالمقابل، قال الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي، اليوم، على كييف وحلفائها تسريع جهودهم لتحديد ضمانات أمنية مستقبلية لأوكرانيا، فيما أكد المستشار الألماني فريدريش ميرتس، استعداد الدول الغربية لزيادة ضغط العقوبات على روسيا إذا لم يتم عقد اجتماع بين الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين، والأوكراني فلاديمير زيلينسكي.
وأشار المستشار الألماني إلى أن ترمب اقترح إجراء مفاوضات ثلاثية في هذه الحالة، أي مفاوضات بينه وبين بوتين وزيلينسكي، وسيشكل ذلك الخطوة المنطقية التالية.
من جهة أخرى، قال وزير الخارجية الروسي سيرغي لافروف، إن موسكو مستعدة للتفاوض بشأن أوكرانيا وفق أي صيغة من الصيغ إذا كان العمل صادقاً، ولا يهدف إلى جر الولايات المتحدة إلى حملة أوروبا العدوانية.
The Ukrainian army acknowledged today (Tuesday) the entry of Russian forces into the Dnipropetrovsk region in central Ukraine, denying Moscow's claim that its troops had completely taken control of the villages of Zaporizhzhia and Novohryhorivka.
A spokesperson for the "Dnipropetrovsk Operational Strategic Group" of the army, Viktor Pryhobov, said: "Yes, they have entered, and fighting is ongoing."
The Russian army had first stated in July that its forces had advanced in that area and taken control of some towns without an official announcement of complete control.
Russian forces are making gradual progress in costly battles to control heavily devastated areas in eastern and southern Ukraine, which are often almost deserted. Dnipropetrovsk is not one of the five Ukrainian regions—Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Crimea—that Moscow has declared annexed.
In contrast, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated today that Kyiv and its allies must accelerate their efforts to determine future security guarantees for Ukraine, while German Chancellor Friedrich Merz confirmed the willingness of Western countries to increase pressure through sanctions on Russia if a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is not held.
The German Chancellor noted that Trump had proposed conducting trilateral negotiations in this case, meaning negotiations between him, Putin, and Zelensky, which would represent the next logical step.
On the other hand, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow is ready to negotiate regarding Ukraine under any format if the work is sincere and does not aim to drag the United States into an aggressive campaign in Europe.
