فيما التقى الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع، اليوم (الإثنين) في دمشق، وفداً من الكونغرس بحضور المبعوث الأمريكي توماس براك، دانت وزارة الخارجية السورية بشدّة التوغّل العسكري الذي نفذته قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي في منطقة بيت جن بريف دمشق وسيطرتها على تلال في سفوح جبل الشيخ، واصفة التوغل بأنه انتهاك سافر لسيادة ووحدة الأراضي السورية.
وأوضحت الخارجية السورية في بيان أن هذا التصعيد الخطير يشكل تهديداً مباشراً للسلم والأمن الإقليميين، ويجسد مجدداً النهج العدواني للاحتلال في تحدٍّ صارخ لأحكام القانون الدولي وقرارات الشرعية الدولية، لاسيما المتعلقة باحترام سيادة الدول وعدم التدخل في شؤونها الداخلية.
وجدّدت دمشق دعوتها إلى الأمم المتحدة ومجلس الأمن لتحمّل مسؤولياتهم القانونية والأخلاقية، واتخاذ إجراءات عاجلة وفعالة لردع سلطات الاحتلال عن ممارساتها العدوانية، وضمان مساءلتها وفقاً لأحكام القانون الدولي، بما يكفل صون سيادة ووحدة الأراضي السورية، محذرة من استمرار هذه الانتهاكات، التي قالت إنها تقوّض جهود الاستقرار وتفاقم حالة التوتر في المنطقة، وتشكل تهديداً للسلم والأمن الإقليميين.
وكان وزير الخارجية السوري أسعد الشيباني قد اتهم، اليوم، إسرائيل بانتهاك اتفاقية فصل القوات لعام 1974 وقرارات مجلس الأمن، من خلال إقامة مراكز استخباراتية ونقاط عسكرية داخل مناطق محرمة، حسبما نقلت وكالة الأنباء السورية «سانا».
ودعا الشيباني خلال مشاركته في الاجتماع الوزاري الطارئ لمنظمة التعاون الإسلامي، المنعقد في مدينة جدة السعودية، منظمة التعاون الإسلامي لدعم الموقف السوري في المحافل الدولية ورفض أي محاولة لشرعنة الاحتلال أو تكريس واقع مفروض بالقوة على حساب السيادة السورية.
While Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara met today (Monday) in Damascus with a delegation from Congress in the presence of U.S. envoy Thomas Barak, the Syrian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the military incursion carried out by Israeli occupation forces in the Beit Jinn area of rural Damascus and their control over hills on the slopes of Mount Sheikh, describing the incursion as a blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry clarified in a statement that this dangerous escalation poses a direct threat to regional peace and security, and once again embodies the aggressive approach of the occupation in a blatant challenge to international law and international legitimacy resolutions, particularly those related to respecting the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs.
Damascus reiterated its call to the United Nations and the Security Council to assume their legal and moral responsibilities, and to take urgent and effective measures to deter the occupying authorities from their aggressive practices, and to ensure accountability in accordance with international law, which guarantees the preservation of Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity, warning against the continuation of these violations, which it said undermine stability efforts and exacerbate tensions in the region, posing a threat to regional peace and security.
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shabani accused Israel today of violating the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement and Security Council resolutions by establishing intelligence centers and military points within prohibited areas, according to the Syrian news agency "SANA."
During his participation in the emergency ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Shabani called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to support the Syrian position in international forums and to reject any attempt to legitimize the occupation or to entrench a reality imposed by force at the expense of Syrian sovereignty.
