طالب رئيس أركان جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي إيال زامير اليوم (الأحد) رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو باغتنام الفرصة المتاحة حالياً لإبرام صفقة تقضي بتحرير الأسرى في قطاع غزة، مؤكداً في رسالة وجهها إليه أن أي خطوة نحو احتلال غزة بشكل كامل ستعرّض حياة الرهائن لخطر بالغ.
وأشار إلى أن الاعتبارات العملياتية والأمنية تُحتّم التعامل مع هذا الملف بحذر شديد، مبيناً أنه نجح خلال الأشهر الماضية في تهيئة ظروف ميدانية وأمنية ملائمة تتيح التوصل إلى صفقة، ودعا زامير القيادة السياسية إلى استغلال اللحظة وعدم إضاعتها.
يأتي ذلك بالتزامن مع ضغوطات متزايدة على رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي للتوصل إلى صفقة خصوصاً في ظل المجاعة الكبيرة التي تعيشها غزة وجرائم الإبادة التي يرتكبها جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي.
من جهة أخرى، أكد المفوض العام لوكالة الأمم المتحدة لإغاثة وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين (الأونروا)، فيليب لازاريني، أن سكان قطاع غزة يعيشون الجحيم بجميع أشكاله، موضحاً في منشور على حسابه في «إكس» أن الوقت حان لحكومة الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بالتوقف عن ترويج رواية مغايرة، وأن تسمح للمنظمات الإنسانية بتقديم المساعدات دون قيود، وأن تتيح للصحفيين الدوليين التغطية المستقلة من داخل غزة.
وقالت الأونروا في بيان إن مخازنها وحدها في الأردن ومصر ممتلئة، مشيرة إلى أنه يوجد ما يكفي من الأغذية والأدوية ومستلزمات النظافة الصحية، وهي جاهزة لملء 6000 شاحنة، مضيفاً: يجب على إسرائيل أن تسمح لنا بتقديم المساعدات إلى غزة.
The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Occupation Army, Eyal Zamir, today (Sunday) urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to seize the current opportunity to reach a deal for the release of prisoners in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing in a message directed to him that any move towards a complete occupation of Gaza would put the lives of the hostages in grave danger.
He pointed out that operational and security considerations necessitate handling this file with extreme caution, indicating that he has succeeded in recent months in creating suitable field and security conditions that allow for a deal to be reached. Zamir called on the political leadership to take advantage of the moment and not to waste it.
This comes amid increasing pressure on the Israeli Prime Minister to reach a deal, especially in light of the severe famine that Gaza is experiencing and the crimes of genocide being committed by the Israeli occupation army.
On the other hand, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, confirmed that the residents of the Gaza Strip are living in hell in all its forms, explaining in a post on his account on "X" that it is time for the Israeli occupation government to stop promoting an alternative narrative, to allow humanitarian organizations to provide aid without restrictions, and to enable international journalists to cover the situation independently from within Gaza.
UNRWA stated in a statement that its warehouses alone in Jordan and Egypt are full, noting that there is enough food, medicine, and hygiene supplies ready to fill 6,000 trucks, adding: Israel must allow us to provide aid to Gaza.
