أعلنت المتحدثة باسم البيت الأبيض كارولين ليفيت اليوم (الثلاثاء)، موافقة الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين على بدء المرحلة التالية من عملية السلام في أوكرانيا.
وقالت ليفيت خلال مؤتمر صحفي في البيت الأبيض: عقب المحادثات المشجعة أمس (الإثنين)، تحدَّث الرئيس دونالد ترمب هاتفياً مع بوتين الذي وافق على بدء المرحلة التالية من عملية السلام، موضحة أنها تتمثل في عقد اجتماع بين بوتين ونظيره الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي، يتبعه عند الضرورة اجتماع ثلاثي بين بوتين وزيلينسكي وترمب.
وأضافت: الرئيس ترمب أعلن بشكل نهائي أن القوات الأمريكية لن تكون على الأرض في أوكرانيا، لكن يمكننا بالتأكيد المساعدة في التنسيق وربما تقديم وسائل أخرى من الضمانات الأمنية لحلفائنا الأوروبيين، مشيرة إلى أن الحماية الأمريكية الجوية كضمانة أمنية في أوكرانيا خيار وارد.
وأوضحت أن ترمب يدرك أن الضمانات الأمنية أمر بالغ الأهمية لضمان سلام دائم، وقد وجّه فريقه للأمن القومي للتنسيق مع الأصدقاء في أوروبا، وكذلك مواصلة التعاون ومناقشة هذه القضايا مع أوكرانيا وروسيا أيضاً، مبينة أن نائب الرئيس الأمريكي جي دي فانس، ووزير الخارجية ماركو روبيو، والمبعوث الخاص ستيف ويتكوف سيواصلون التنسيق مع روسيا وأوكرانيا لتحقيق ذلك في أسرع وقت ممكن.
وكان الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي قد قال في وقت سابق اليوم إن بلاده تعمل مع الولايات المتحدة و«تحالف الراغبين» على تحديد هيكل الضمانات الأمنية، مؤكداً أن أوكرانيا على ثقة بأن السلام يمكن أن يكون موثوقاً ودائماً، وأن الضمانات الأمنية تُمثّل المفتاح لتحقيق ذلك.
وكتب زيلينسكي على منصة «إكس»: العمل يجري حالياً على جميع المستويات لوضع التفاصيل الخاصة بشكل وهيكل الضمانات الأمنية، مؤكداً أنها ستضمن مستقبل الشعب الأوكراني.
The White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt announced today (Tuesday) that Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to begin the next phase of the peace process in Ukraine.
Levitt said during a press conference at the White House: Following the encouraging talks yesterday (Monday), President Donald Trump spoke by phone with Putin, who agreed to start the next phase of the peace process, which involves holding a meeting between Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, followed by a trilateral meeting between Putin, Zelensky, and Trump if necessary.
She added: President Trump has definitively announced that American troops will not be on the ground in Ukraine, but we can certainly help coordinate and perhaps provide other means of security guarantees for our European allies, noting that American air protection as a security guarantee in Ukraine is a viable option.
She clarified that Trump understands that security guarantees are crucial for ensuring lasting peace, and he has directed his national security team to coordinate with friends in Europe, as well as continue cooperation and discuss these issues with Ukraine and Russia as well, stating that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will continue to coordinate with Russia and Ukraine to achieve this as soon as possible.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had earlier said today that his country is working with the United States and the "Coalition of the Willing" to determine the structure of security guarantees, affirming that Ukraine is confident that peace can be reliable and lasting, and that security guarantees represent the key to achieving that.
Zelensky wrote on the platform "X": Work is currently underway at all levels to finalize the details regarding the form and structure of security guarantees, emphasizing that they will ensure the future of the Ukrainian people.
