U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Ukraine will regain large areas of its territory, noting that he does not want to waste time, but only wants to end the war.

In an interview with "Fox News" today (Tuesday), Trump called on his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky to show flexibility in negotiations regarding the resolution of the crisis.

He said, "Perhaps the Russian president does not want to reach an agreement, and this will become clear in the coming two weeks." Adding, "I hope Putin is good, otherwise we will be facing a difficult situation." Nevertheless, the U.S. president considered that Putin and Zelensky are on the right track. He stated that he did not contact Putin in front of European leaders during the meeting with the Ukrainian president in Washington yesterday, Monday. He clarified that "there will be some form of security, but it cannot be NATO."

Trump reiterated that the return of Crimea to Ukraine and Kyiv's accession to NATO are impossible, saying, "Both are not possible." Trump has hinted several times in the past about the possibility of a land exchange between Russia and Ukraine.

He confirmed that the Crimea peninsula, which was occupied by Russia in 2024 and annexed to its territory, may not return to Ukrainian authorities.

For his part, the Ukrainian president has repeatedly affirmed that his country will not give up its territories, especially in Donbas to the east. Zelensky announced that the issue of territories will be discussed during a summit that will bring him together with Putin and the U.S. president later.
