قافلة مساعدات إغاثية وإنسانية تدخل السويداء

The humanitarian and food aid convoys from the Syrian Arab Red Crescent entered the governorate of Suwayda today (Tuesday) through the Busra al-Harir corridor in the countryside of Daraa, according to the Syrian news agency "SANA".

The Syrian Foreign Ministry reiterated that there are no restrictions on the entry of aid to southern Syria, particularly Suwayda and Daraa, following a meeting with several security leaders in Syria.

The Foreign Ministry, in a statement, called for enhancing the humanitarian response for those affected in southern Syria, confirming that more than 12 aid convoys have been sent to Suwayda since the beginning of the crisis. It urged donor countries to increase the funding directed towards humanitarian programs in the country.

Suwayda witnessed clashes and confrontations that lasted a week on July 13 between Druze fighters and Bedouin tribes, prompting government security forces to intervene to stop the confrontations between the two sides, while around 200,000 people were displaced due to the conflict, according to United Nations estimates.

Since July 19, the governorate has been experiencing a ceasefire following the bloody clashes that resulted in hundreds of deaths.

Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara affirmed two days ago the unity of Syrian territory, pointing out that "parties are seeking support from Israel, but they will not be able to achieve their goals."

Meanwhile, France welcomed the publication of the report by the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, which was released on August 11, regarding the violations committed against civilians in the coastal and central-western regions between January and March 2025. It considered that the document represents a key milestone in uncovering the facts and ensuring accountability for those responsible.

The French Foreign Ministry stated in a statement today (Tuesday) that the recommendations contained in the report must be fully implemented as committed by the Syrian authorities, contributing to the establishment of civil peace, preventing the recurrence of crimes, and protecting civilians.

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani sent a message to the Chair of the Independent International Commission of Inquiry, Paulo Sergio Pinheiro, confirming Damascus's readiness to cooperate with the commission, which was made public on August 14.
