Fourteen civilians were killed while trying to escape from the city of El Fasher on the road leading to the Tole area in the western direction of the city, according to local sources in North Darfur state in western Sudan.
The sources pointed out that dozens of families displaced from El Fasher towards safe havens, fleeing from siege and hunger, are facing incidents of looting, robbery, and murder on the way to El Fasher.
Last night, Monday, the city of El Fasher witnessed a strategic march attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces, targeting the headquarters of the judiciary in North Darfur state, with no information available yet regarding the extent of the damages and losses.
The city of El Fasher is currently experiencing a significant deterioration in the humanitarian situation due to a siege imposed by the Rapid Support Forces for several months, leading to the collapse of the health system and the lack of services for thousands of civilians within the capital of the Darfur region.
The state of South Kordofan in southern Sudan is facing a double siege from the Sudan People's Liberation Movement North led by Abdel Aziz al-Hilu and the Rapid Support Forces, creating a worsening humanitarian reality within the cities of Kadugli and Delang, where food supplies and life-saving medicines have become scarce, along with a continuous interruption of electricity and water for several months.
In terms of health, the number of deaths due to the spread of cholera in the Darfur region, according to the latest statistics as of last night, has reached 305 cases, while the number of infections since the outbreak of the disease in Darfur last June has exceeded 7,000.
Today, Tuesday, Sudanese Prime Minister Kamel Idris is expected to hold an important meeting in Port Sudan, the temporary administrative capital, to discuss controlling the rise in the prices of the dollar and foreign currencies. Idris is expected to meet with the Minister of Finance and the leadership of the Central Bank to discuss taking a package of measures and decisions.
The United Nations recently warned that 17 Sudanese areas have been classified as at risk of famine, including parts of Darfur, the Nuba Mountains, Khartoum, and Al-Jazeera.
