هاجم رئيس مجلس الأعيان الأردني فيصل الفايز بقوة عملية 7 أكتوبر التي قامت بها حركة حماس، مؤكداً أنها لم تخلف غير الدمار لقطاع غزة وأهله، كما وترت الأوضاع في المنطقة وانعكست سلباً على عملية السلام.
وهاجم الفايز تنظيم «الإخوان» الإرهابي رغم أنه قال «تربطني علاقة طيبة مع الإخوان المسلمين وكنت على تواصل معهم طوال السنة الماضية بشكل كبير، وبكل صراحة هم لديهم مشكلة بالولاء».
واستدرك الفايز قائلاً «أعرف أنني بعد تصريحاتي سأتعرض للانتقاد على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي لكن ليست لدي مشكلة»، معتبراً أن العواطف هي التي تعيق التطور وأن الأردن عاني كثيراً من سلبيات العواطف.
وأشار إلى أن الأردن يتقبل النقد البناء وليس الإساءة، مشدداً بالقول: موقف الأردن الجيوسياسي إيجابياته أكثر من سلبياته، ويقدم لنا حماية، وأنا أتحدث بمعلومات لا تكهنات، وهذا يعطينا حماية من أي خطر.
واستنكر رئيس مجلس الأعيان الأردني تصريحات رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو بعزمه فرض السيادة الإسرائيلية على منطقة غور الأردن وشمال البحر الميت وضم المستوطنات اللاشرعية في الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة لإسرائيل.
وأكد الفايز أن إعلان نتنياهو تعد صارخ على حقوق شعوب المنطقة، وأن تلك التصريحات عنصرية وتعبر عن حقيقة الحكومة الإسرائيلية اليمينية المتطرفة، ما من شأنه تأجيج الصراع في المنطقة والعمل على تقويض حالة الأمن والاستقرار فيها.
وقال الفايز إن هذه التصريحات تشكل تصعيداً خطيراً في المنطقة، داعياً مجلس الأمن والأمم المتحدة والمجتمع الدولي لاتخاذ الإجراءات السياسية والقانونية اللازمة والسريعة للتصدي لهذا الموقف العدواني الجديد الذي سيقود المنطقة لمزيد من الفوضى والدمار.
The President of the Jordanian Senate, Faisal Al-Fayez, strongly criticized the October 7 operation carried out by Hamas, affirming that it only resulted in destruction for the Gaza Strip and its people, as well as exacerbating the situation in the region and negatively impacting the peace process.
Al-Fayez also attacked the terrorist organization "the Brotherhood," although he stated, "I have a good relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood and I have been in contact with them significantly throughout the past year, and frankly, they have a loyalty problem."
He added, "I know that after my statements, I will face criticism on social media, but I have no problem with that," considering that emotions hinder development and that Jordan has suffered greatly from the negatives of emotions.
He pointed out that Jordan accepts constructive criticism, not insults, emphasizing: "Jordan's geopolitical position has more positives than negatives, and it provides us with protection. I am speaking based on information, not speculation, and this gives us protection from any danger."
Al-Fayez condemned the statements of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding his intention to impose Israeli sovereignty over the Jordan Valley and the northern Dead Sea and to annex the illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories to Israel.
He affirmed that Netanyahu's announcement is a blatant violation of the rights of the peoples of the region, and that such statements are racist and reflect the reality of the extremist right-wing Israeli government, which is likely to inflame the conflict in the region and undermine security and stability.
Al-Fayez stated that these statements represent a serious escalation in the region, calling on the Security Council, the United Nations, and the international community to take the necessary and swift political and legal actions to confront this new aggressive stance that will lead the region to more chaos and destruction.
