The Yemeni Prime Minister, Salem Saleh Bin Brek, confirmed that the Yemeni government is proceeding with comprehensive and deep reforms in the economic, financial, and administrative fields according to a clearly defined plan. This is being done in full coordination with the Presidential Leadership Council and the Central Bank of Yemen to ensure the sustainability of exchange rate stability and to enhance the efficiency of state institutions in oversight, combating corruption, and optimal employment of available resources for the benefit of citizens' lives and livelihoods. He reiterated that the improvement in the national currency's exchange rate is not just an economic figure but should immediately translate into a real decrease in the prices of goods and services.

He stated: "The government will not tolerate any entity or individual attempting to circumvent decisions or exploit economic improvements to achieve unlawful gains at the expense of citizens' livelihoods," clarifying during the periodic meeting of the Cabinet the government's commitment to partnership with the national private sector and adopting a participatory approach that preserves its legitimate rights to obtain reasonable and fair profit margins. He emphasized that this partnership is inseparable from everyone's responsibility towards citizens by reducing the prices of goods and services in line with the noticeable improvement in the national currency's exchange rate, and not allowing any monopolistic practices or price manipulation, while continuing to take necessary measures to reduce services, including fees for private schools, universities, and hospitals, and intensifying oversight on drug prices to effectively lower them.

During its meeting today in the temporary capital, Aden, the Cabinet praised the generous support and sincere brotherly positions of the brothers in the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. It affirmed that this support has been and continues to be a fundamental pillar for the resilience of the Yemeni people and for the government's ability to fulfill its duties despite the significant challenges and complex circumstances. It called for urgent support and direct assistance to maintain the stability achieved in the exchange rate, emphasizing that the support of Yemen's partners from donor countries and organizations in these circumstances represents a decisive factor in consolidating trust between the citizen and the government, enhancing opportunities for economic recovery, and alleviating the severity of the humanitarian crisis created by the Houthi terrorist militia through its destructive policies.

The Cabinet had conducted, during its periodic meeting chaired by Prime Minister Salem Saleh Bin Brek, a comprehensive assessment of the measures taken by ministries and government entities to monitor and reduce the prices of goods and services in line with the tangible positive improvement in the national currency's exchange rate.

The council reviewed detailed clarifications from the relevant ministries regarding the level of commitment to implementing government directives, which included intensifying field monitoring campaigns in markets, pursuing violators, and preventing any monopolistic practices or price manipulation. It stressed the continuation of field work and strict oversight of markets, not tolerating any violations, and working with integrated plans to secure citizens' basic needs, keeping pace with positive economic changes that directly reflect on improving citizens' living conditions. It directed adherence to legal procedures and professional standards in implementing inspection and price monitoring campaigns, ensuring consumer protection and maintaining market stability, and preventing any arbitrary practices or violations against traders or commercial establishments.
