رحب رئيس البرلمان العربي محمد بن أحمد اليماحي، بإعلان رئيس الوزراء الأسترالي أنتوني ألبانيزي عزم بلاده الاعتراف بدولة فلسطين، مؤكداً أن هذه الخطوة تمثل تقدماً إيجابياً في مسار الاعتراف الدولي بالحقوق المشروعة للشعب الفلسطيني، وفي مقدمتها إقامة دولته المستقلة وعاصمتها مدينة القدس.
وثمّن اليماحي، في بيان، ما أعلنت عنه دولة نيوزيلندا من دراسة الاعتراف بالدولة الفلسطينية، مشيداً بالمواقف المتنامية على الساحة الدولية المؤيدة لحق الشعب الفلسطيني في تقرير مصيره، داعياً باقي دول العالم إلى الإسراع في اتخاذ خطوات مماثلة، كونه واجباً قانونياً وأخلاقياً، وإسهاماً حقيقياً في إنهاء الاحتلال ووضع حد لمعاناة الشعب الفلسطيني المستمرة منذ عقود، وتعزيز فرص تحقيق السلام العادل والشامل في المنطقة.
وأفاد رئيس البرلمان العربي بأن الاعتراف بدولة فلسطين هو حجر الزاوية لأي تسوية عادلة وشاملة للقضية الفلسطينية، مؤكداً استمرار البرلمان العربي في جهوده وتحركاته البرلمانية والدبلوماسية لدعم القضية الفلسطينية ودعم حقوق الشعب الفلسطيني على المستويات كافة.
The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, welcomed the announcement by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese regarding his country's intention to recognize the State of Palestine, affirming that this step represents a positive advancement in the international recognition of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Al-Yamahi praised, in a statement, what New Zealand has announced regarding the study of recognizing the Palestinian state, commending the growing positions on the international stage that support the Palestinian people's right to self-determination. He called on other countries around the world to expedite similar steps, as it is a legal and moral obligation, and a genuine contribution to ending the occupation and putting an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people that has persisted for decades, as well as enhancing the chances of achieving just and comprehensive peace in the region.
The President of the Arab Parliament stated that recognizing the State of Palestine is the cornerstone of any fair and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue, affirming the continued efforts and parliamentary and diplomatic movements of the Arab Parliament to support the Palestinian cause and uphold the rights of the Palestinian people at all levels.
