خطف مسلحون أكثر من 50 شخصا في عملية جماعية وقعت شمال غربي نيجيريا، بحسب تقرير أعده مرصد نزاعات لصالح الأمم المتحدة.
وأفادت وسائل إعلام محلية اليوم (الإثنين)، بأن قطاع طرق مسلحين هاجموا قرية «سابون غارين دامري» في ولاية «زامفارا»، التي تعد من أكثر الولايات تضررا من عمليات الخطف.
وتعتبر هذه العملية أحدث هجمة تشهدها المنطقة، التي عانى سكانها لفترة طويلة من عصابات الخطف من خلال استهداف المجتمعات المحلية في شمال غربي نيجيريا، مقابل الحصول على فدية، إضافة إلى قيامها بعمليات نهب وفرض إتاوات.
وتواجه نيجيريا ضغوطا متزايدة بسبب تعدد جبهات القتال، إذ تخوض قواتها مواجهات ضد مسلحي جماعة «بوكو حرام» في الشمال الشرقي، وتكافح قطاع الطرق في الشمال الغربي، بالإضافة إلى التصدي لهجمات الرعاة في الوسط، والانفصاليين في الجنوب الشرقي.
Armed men kidnapped more than 50 people in a mass operation that took place in northwestern Nigeria, according to a report prepared by a conflict observatory for the United Nations.
Local media reported today (Monday) that armed bandits attacked the village of "Sabon Garin Damri" in Zamfara State, which is one of the states most affected by kidnapping operations.
This operation is considered the latest assault in the region, where residents have long suffered from kidnapping gangs targeting local communities in northwestern Nigeria for ransom, in addition to engaging in looting and imposing taxes.
Nigeria is facing increasing pressure due to multiple fronts of conflict, as its forces are engaged in confrontations against militants from the "Boko Haram" group in the northeast, struggling against bandits in the northwest, as well as countering attacks from herders in the center and separatists in the southeast.
