عراقجي: لا زلنا قادرين على تخصيب اليورانيوم

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi revealed today (Saturday) that his country is still capable of enriching uranium, explaining that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has approved a new mechanism for cooperation with it.

Araghchi stated in remarks broadcast by Iranian television: "The IAEA has accepted a new approach to cooperation between the two sides, and it will send a team to Tehran for negotiations," adding: "This time the negotiations will be more difficult after the recent aggression," referring to the American and Israeli attack on Iran last month.

He pointed out that there is no official ceasefire following the recent aggression, and everything is possible, emphasizing that the nuclear facilities were damaged by the bombardment they were subjected to.

He noted that buildings can be renewed, and machines can be replaced, as the technology is available and we have a large number of scientists and technicians who have worked in our facilities, but the timing and manner of resuming enrichment depend on the circumstances.

The Iranian Foreign Minister threatened to halt negotiations with the Europeans if the mechanism for re-imposing sanctions (snapback) is activated to reinstate United Nations sanctions at the end of August.

Araghchi mentioned in an interview with "Fox News" that as long as U.S. President Donald Trump demands a complete halt to enrichment, there will be no agreement, indicating that Washington can express its concerns through negotiations.

Araghchi had described in remarks yesterday the attack on Iranian nuclear facilities as "a violation of international law," while Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei stated that the IAEA will conduct a visit to Iran within two weeks.
