أشادت إيطاليا بالجهود المصرية الحاسمة في وقف قوارب الهجرة غير الشرعية من السواحل المصرية منذ 2025، مؤكدة أن التنسيق المتواصل بين البلدين أسهم في تحقيق نجاحات ملموسة بهذا الملف.
جاء ذلك خلال استقبال الرئيس عبدالفتاح السيسي، الأربعاء، وزير الدفاع الإيطالي جويدو كروسيتو بحضور وزير الدفاع المصري الفريق أول عبدالمجيد صقر، والسفير الإيطالي في القاهرة ميكيلي كواروني.
وأكد الوزير الإيطالي تقدير بلاده للعلاقات التاريخية التي تجمعها بمصر، ناقلاً تحيات رئيسة وزراء إيطاليا إلى الرئيس السيسي، فيما شدد الجانبان على أهمية تعزيز التعاون العسكري والأمني وترسيخ الشراكة الإستراتيجية بين البلدين.
وتناولت المباحثات التطورات في قطاع غزة، حيث أكد السيسي ضرورة وقف إطلاق النار ورفض تهجير الفلسطينيين، إضافة إلى دعم حل الدولتين كسبيل لتحقيق السلام الدائم.
كما تطرق اللقاء إلى الأزمات الإقليمية وجهود تحقيق الاستقرار في الشرق الأوسط، وبحث فرص تعاون مشترك بين مصر وإيطاليا في القارة الأفريقية ضمن الإستراتيجية الإيطالية للانفتاح على أفريقيا.
Italy praised Egypt's decisive efforts in stopping illegal migration boats from Egyptian shores since 2025, emphasizing that the ongoing coordination between the two countries has contributed to achieving tangible successes in this file.
This came during the reception of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Wednesday, for Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, in the presence of Egyptian Defense Minister General Mohamed Zaki and the Italian Ambassador to Cairo, Michele Quaroni.
The Italian minister affirmed his country's appreciation for the historical relations it shares with Egypt, conveying the greetings of the Italian Prime Minister to President El-Sisi, while both sides stressed the importance of enhancing military and security cooperation and solidifying the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The discussions addressed developments in the Gaza Strip, where El-Sisi emphasized the necessity of a ceasefire and rejected the displacement of Palestinians, in addition to supporting the two-state solution as a means to achieve lasting peace.
The meeting also touched on regional crises and efforts to achieve stability in the Middle East, and explored opportunities for joint cooperation between Egypt and Italy in the African continent as part of the Italian strategy for engagement with Africa.
