أكد ملك المغرب محمد السادس (الثلاثاء) أن بلاده مستعدة لإجراء «حوار صريح ومسؤول» مع الجزائر، بشأن مختلف القضايا العالقة بين البلدين، مشيراً إلى أن مبادرة الحكم الذاتي هي «حل وحيد للنزاع حول الصحراء المغربية».
وأضاف ملك المغرب في خطاب بمناسبة عيد العرش «حريصون على إقامة علاقات طيبة مع الشعب الجزائري، ونؤكد حرصنا على إيجاد حل توافقي في نزاع الصحراء يحفظ ماء وجه جميع الأطراف». وتابع ملك المغرب «إن التزامنا الراسخ باليد الممدودة لأشقائنا في الجزائر نابع من إيماننا بوحدة شعوبنا، وقدرتنا سوياً على تجاوز هذا الوضع المؤسف». وأكد الملك محمد السادس تمسك بلاده بالاتحاد المغاربي، وأضاف أن الاتحاد المغاربي «لن يكون دون انخراط المغرب والجزائر مع باقي الدول الشقيقة».
King of Morocco Mohammed VI confirmed on Tuesday that his country is ready to engage in a "frank and responsible dialogue" with Algeria regarding various outstanding issues between the two countries, noting that the autonomy initiative is the "only solution to the dispute over Moroccan Sahara."
The King of Morocco added in a speech on the occasion of the Throne Day, "We are keen to establish good relations with the Algerian people, and we affirm our commitment to finding a consensual solution in the Sahara dispute that preserves the dignity of all parties." He continued, "Our firm commitment to extending a hand to our brothers in Algeria stems from our belief in the unity of our peoples and our ability together to overcome this unfortunate situation." King Mohammed VI affirmed his country's adherence to the Maghreb Union and added that the Maghreb Union "will not be without the involvement of Morocco and Algeria along with the other brotherly countries."
