ثمَّن وزير الدولة بوزارة الخارجية القطرية وممثلها في الأمم المتحدة محمد الخليفي اليوم (الاثنين) دور السعودية وفرنسا في استضافة مؤتمر حل الدولتين لتسوية القضية الفلسطينية في الأمم المتحدة، مؤكداً في كلمته أمام المؤتمر أن السبيل الوحيد للأمن والسلام على المدى الطويل في المنطقة هو حل الدولتين الذي يضمن إقامة دولة فلسطينية على حدود 1967 وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية.
وقال الخليفي: «الاحتلال لا يمكن أن يضمن الأمن»، داعياً إلى اتخاذ إجراءات حاسمة ضد خطابات التحريض على الكراهية والعنف.
ويركز المؤتمر الذي انطلق في نيويورك على الإجراءات العملية لدعم التسوية السلمية بشكل عاجل، ووضع أسس حل عادل ودائم للقضية الفلسطينية يوقف دائرة العنف المستمرة في المنطقة، ويسهم في استقرار أمنها الإقليمي، وينهي معاناة الشعب الفلسطيني، ويعيد له حقوقه المشروعة في تجسيد دولته الفلسطينية المستقلة.
في غضون ذلك، قال وزير الخارجية البرازيلي ماورو فييرا إن بلاده تؤيد الاعتراف بدولة فلسطين عضواً كاملاً بالأمم المتحدة، وترفض الضم، وتوسيع المستوطنات، داعياً لحماية العاملين الإنسانيين، وفرض جزاءات على المستوطنين.

The Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and its representative at the United Nations, Mohammed Al-Khalifi, today (Monday) praised the role of Saudi Arabia and France in hosting the two-state solution conference to resolve the Palestinian issue at the United Nations, emphasizing in his speech at the conference that the only path to long-term security and peace in the region is the two-state solution that guarantees the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Al-Khalifi said: “Occupation cannot guarantee security,” calling for decisive action against hate speech and violence.
The conference, which kicked off in New York, focuses on practical measures to urgently support a peaceful settlement, laying the foundations for a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue that halts the ongoing cycle of violence in the region, contributes to its regional security stability, ends the suffering of the Palestinian people, and restores their legitimate rights to establish their independent Palestinian state.
Meanwhile, Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira stated that his country supports the recognition of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations, rejects annexation, and the expansion of settlements, calling for the protection of humanitarian workers and the imposition of sanctions on settlers.
