Cairo has renewed its rejection of the establishment of a tent city south of Gaza. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty emphasized during a phone call with the U.S. envoy to the Middle East, Steve Hitt, Egypt's complete rejection of all ideas circulating about creating a tent city in southern Gaza Strip, or making any demographic changes in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The call focused on the intensive efforts currently being made to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, work towards its sustainability, and push for the release of a group of prisoners in exchange for a ceasefire and the unobstructed and sufficient entry of aid in light of the catastrophic conditions in the sector.

The Foreign Minister spoke about the Egyptian proposal to hold an international conference in Egypt concerned with early recovery and reconstruction after reaching a ceasefire, which would contribute to starting the reconstruction process in the sector according to the Arab-Islamic plan in this regard.

An Egyptian source stated on Tuesday that Cairo, as part of the efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, is hosting Egyptian-Qatari-Israeli meetings to discuss the details of humanitarian aid entry, the exit of patients, and the return of those stranded.

According to the source, the meetings are witnessing progress and consensus on several issues related to the humanitarian aspect of the ceasefire agreement, noting that the meetings will continue for two days as part of Egypt's efforts to overcome the obstacles facing the agreement and its keenness to deliver aid to the citizens of the sector in sufficient and appropriate quantities.

Israeli media reported on Tuesday evening that progress has been made in the indirect negotiations regarding the sector over the past 24 hours, announcing that the path has been paved for reaching an agreement.

Israel had presented a "third map" for the deployment of its forces in the Gaza Strip throughout the proposed 60-day ceasefire period, and provided "greater flexibility" regarding the location of its military personnel along the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, between the Morag and Philadelphia passages, according to what was revealed by the "Jerusalem Post".

Under the proposal of the third deployment map presented by Tel Aviv, Israel will reduce its military presence to a buffer zone two kilometers wide along the southern border near Rafah.

The main points of contention between Israel and Hamas revolve around the withdrawal of Israeli forces during the ceasefire and the method of distributing aid within the Gaza Strip.
