أفصح وزير الخارجية النيجيري يوسف توغار أن الولايات المتحدة تضغط على دول أفريقية لقبول ترحيل فنزويليين إليها، بعضهم يتم ترحيله عقب الخروج من السجن مباشرة.
ونقلت قناة تلفزيونية محلية في ساعة متأخرة من مساء الخميس عن توغار قوله: «إن نيجيريا أكبر دولة أفريقية من حيث عدد السكان، لا يمكنها استقبالهم نظراً إلى مشكلاتها الخاصة».
وكان مسؤولان مطلعان كشفا أن إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترمب طلبت خلال الأسبوع الحالي من 5 رؤساء دول أفريقية لدى زيارتهم للبيت الأبيض استقبال مهاجري دول أخرى، حين ترحلهم الولايات المتحدة.
وقال توغار خلال قمة مجموعة «بريكس» التي عقدت في البرازيل: «يتعين أن نضع في الحسبان أيضاً أن الولايات المتحدة تمارس ضغوطاً كبيرة على الدول الأفريقية لقبول ترحيل الفنزويليين، بعضهم خرج لتوه من السجن». وأكد أن «من الصعب على دولة مثل نيجيريا قبول سجناء فنزويليين على أراضيها، لدينا ما يكفي من المشكلات»، ولفت إلى أن تعداد سكان بلاده يبلغ 230 مليون نسمة.
ومنذ عودته إلى منصبه في يناير الماضي، يواصل الرئيس الأمريكي الضغط لتعجيل عمليات الترحيل، التي تشمل إرسال مهاجرين إلى دول ثالثة في حالة حدوث مشكلات أو تأخيرات في إرسالهم إلى بلدانهم الأصلية.
واستضاف ترمب هذا الأسبوع رؤساء ليبيريا والسنغال وغينيا بيساو وموريتانيا والغابون في البيت الأبيض، وقال مسؤول أمريكي وآخر ليبيري إنه طرح خطة لهذه الدول لاستقبال مهاجرين من دول أخرى عندما ترحلهم الولايات المتحدة.

The Nigerian Foreign Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, revealed that the United States is pressuring African countries to accept the deportation of Venezuelans to them, some of whom are being deported immediately after being released from prison.
A local television channel reported late Thursday that Tuggar stated: "As the largest African country by population, Nigeria cannot accommodate them due to its own problems."
Two informed officials disclosed that the Trump administration requested this week from five African heads of state, during their visit to the White House, to accept migrants from other countries when the United States deports them.
Tuggar said during the BRICS summit held in Brazil: "We must also consider that the United States is exerting significant pressure on African countries to accept the deportation of Venezuelans, some of whom have just been released from prison." He emphasized that "it is difficult for a country like Nigeria to accept Venezuelan prisoners on its territory; we have enough problems," noting that his country's population is 230 million.
Since returning to office last January, the U.S. president has continued to push for expedited deportation processes, which include sending migrants to third countries in case of issues or delays in sending them back to their home countries.
This week, Trump hosted the presidents of Liberia, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, and Gabon at the White House, and an American official and a Liberian official stated that he proposed a plan for these countries to accept migrants from other countries when the United States deports them.
