أكد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، أن السعودية والإمارات وقطر لديهم قادة عظماء، مشيراً إلى أن الأمور ستستقر في الشرق الأوسط.
وقال خلال استقباله في البيت الأبيض ليل (الثلاثاء) رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو: «إيران تريد الاجتماع معنا وصنع السلام، حددنا موعداً للمحادثات وسيتم إعلانه قريباً»، منوّها إلى أنه لا يرغب في شن أي ضربات عسكرية جديدة على إيران.
وأكد أن «إيران لن تكون دولة نووية، وآمل ألا نضربها مجدداً، لاسيما بعد القضاء على برنامجها بحسب ما أشارت الوكالة الدولية الذرية»، لافتاً إلى رفع العقوبات عن إيران «في الوقت المناسب».
وعن إمكانية حل الدولتين قال ترمب: «لا أعرف، وعرضنا الحالي لإنهاء حرب غزة قد يكون الأخير، في ظل وجود رغبة من حركة حماس لوقف إطلاق النار».
من جانبه، سلّم نتنياهو ترمب خطاب ترشيحه لجائزة نوبل للسلام. وقال: «أعمل مع الرئيس الأمريكي على إيجاد دول تمنح الفلسطينيين مستقبلاً أفضل».

During his meeting at the White House on Tuesday night with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he said: "Iran wants to meet with us and make peace; we have set a date for the talks, and it will be announced soon," pointing out that he does not wish to launch any new military strikes against Iran.
He affirmed that "Iran will not be a nuclear state, and I hope we do not strike it again, especially after eliminating its program as indicated by the International Atomic Energy Agency," noting that sanctions on Iran will be lifted "in due time."
Regarding the possibility of a two-state solution, Trump said: "I don't know, and our current offer to end the Gaza war may be the last, given Hamas's desire for a ceasefire."
For his part, Netanyahu handed Trump his nomination letter for the Nobel Peace Prize. He said: "I am working with the US president to find countries that will give Palestinians a better future."
