أكد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أمس (الثلاثاء)، أن إدارته «ستضطر للنظر» في ترحيل إيلون ماسك، بعد أن أعاد الملياردير المولود في جنوب أفريقيا، إشعال الخلاف بشأن مشروع قانون الضرائب والإنفاق المدعوم من البيت الأبيض.
ونشر ماسك -الذي حصل على الجنسية الأمريكية في 2002- عدة منشورات على منصته «X»، تهاجم الجمهوريين بشأن مشروع القانون الذي يصفه ترمب بـ«الكبير الجميل»، بحجة أنه يضيف المزيد من الديون.
وكتب ماسك مساء (الإثنين): «من الواضح مع الإنفاق الجنوني لهذا القانون، الذي يزيد سقف الدين بمقدار خمسة تريليونات دولار قياسية، أننا نعيش في بلد ذي حزب واحد»، في إشارة إلى الحزبين الديمقراطي والجمهوري.
ورد ترمب بمنشور على «تروث سوشال» صباح (الثلاثاء) قائلاً إن الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة «تسلا» مستاء من إلغاء قانون المركبات الكهربائية (EV)، معتبراً أن إيلون سيتعين عليه إغلاق عمله والعودة إلى وطنه في جنوب أفريقيا.
وعندما سأله الصحفيون في البيت الأبيض عما إذا كان سيرحّل ماسك، قال ترمب: «سنضطر للنظر في ذلك».
وأضاف: «قد نُضطر لجعل DOGE تحقق مع إيلون»، في إشارة إلى وزارة الكفاءة الحكومية، التي كان ماسك قد رأسها سابقاً كموظف حكومي خاص.
وكان ماسك قد هدد (الإثنين) بتمويل المنافسين الأساسيين لأي جمهوري يصوّت على القانون، مضيفاً أنه سيقوم بذلك «حتى لو كان هذا آخر شيء أفعله على وجه هذه الأرض».
U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed yesterday (Tuesday) that his administration "will have to consider" deporting Elon Musk, after the billionaire born in South Africa reignited the controversy over the tax and spending bill backed by the White House.
Musk—who obtained U.S. citizenship in 2002—posted several messages on his platform "X," attacking Republicans over the bill that Trump describes as "the beautiful big one," arguing that it adds more debt.
Musk wrote on Monday evening: "It is clear with the crazy spending of this bill, which raises the debt ceiling by a record five trillion dollars, that we live in a one-party country," referring to the Democratic and Republican parties.
Trump responded with a post on "Truth Social" on Tuesday morning, stating that the CEO of "Tesla" is upset about the cancellation of the electric vehicle (EV) law, suggesting that Elon will have to close his business and return to his home country of South Africa.
When asked by reporters at the White House whether he would deport Musk, Trump said: "We will have to look into that."
He added: "We may have to make DOGE check in with Elon," referring to the government efficiency department, which Musk had previously headed as a special government employee.
Musk had threatened (on Monday) to fund primary challengers to any Republican who votes for the bill, adding that he would do so "even if it is the last thing I do on this earth."
