Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan praised Saudi Arabia's efforts to hold an international conference to find a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue.
Erdoğan stated in remarks during the Organization of Islamic Cooperation summit in Istanbul today (Saturday): "Our efforts have been ongoing to establish a Palestinian state and to hold a global conference to find a radical solution, and Saudi Arabia's efforts in this direction have been clear. I wish the kingdom success in its endeavors to hold this global conference for the Palestinian cause."
He added: "Saudi Arabia shares the fate of Syria, Turkey, Iran, Palestine, and all the peoples living in the Islamic geography, of various ethnicities and sects, whether they are Arabs, Turks, or Kurds, Sunnis or Shiites."
He continued: "Just as our Qibla is one, which is the Holy Kaaba in Mecca, our fate is also one in this geography, and our slogan is one: There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Our cause is also one, and we must cooperate and stand in solidarity with each other."
The Turkish president affirmed that Iran has a legitimate right to defend itself against Israeli strikes, pointing out that the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is the biggest obstacle to regional peace.
He noted that these attacks were launched while Iranian nuclear negotiations were ongoing, indicating that Netanyahu is employing the same methods and procedures as Hitler. Erdoğan stated that Israel, which possesses nuclear weapons and does not recognize any international rules, did not wait for the negotiations to conclude but launched its terrorist actions without waiting for the outcome, according to him.
Erdoğan called on countries with influence over Israel not to listen to it, and a solution must be found through dialogue.
