أكد رئيس مجلس الوزراء اليمني سالم صالح بن بريك أهمية الدور الكبير الذي تضطلع به السلطات المحلية في عموم المحافظات المحررة في القيام بواجباتها في تقديم الخدمات للمواطنين في ظل الظروف الاستثنائية التي تمر بها البلد.
ونوه بحرص الحكومة، بتوجيهات من مجلس القيادة الرئاسي، على دعم السلطات المحلية، ومتابعة وتقييم مستوى أدائها وتقوية حضورها بما يمكنها من تحمل مسؤولياتها وفقاً للصلاحيات الممنوحة لها بما يمكن من تخفيف معاناة المواطنين.
وشدد على ضرورة القيام بمسؤولياتها والاقتراب من المواطنين والعمل من الميدان لتلمس حاجات ومعاناة المواطنين وإلزام المكاتب التنفيذية بتطوير أدائها في تحسين مستوى الخدمات، مشيراً إلى أن حكومته حريصة على رفع كفاءة أداء السلطات المحلية وتعزيز قيم الشفافية والمحاسبة والتصدي لكافة مظاهر الاختلالات ومكافحة الفساد، وفرض هيبة وحضور الدولة، والعمل على تحقيق الأمن والاستقرار، وحماية المسافرين وحركة تنقلات المواطنين، ومرور الشاحنات والمركبات وتدفق السلع والوقود بيسر وسلاسة بين المحافظات، مشيداً بالسلطة المحلية بمحافظة أبين في خدمة المواطنين وفقاً للإمكانات المتاحة، حاثاً إياها على بذل ومضاعفة الجهود في هذا السياق.
جاء ذلك خلال استقباله في العاصمة المؤقتة محافظ محافظة أبين اللواء أبو بكر حسين، الذي قدم لرئيس الوزراء صورة كاملة عن طبيعة الأوضاع في أبين، من خلال تقرير شامل حول كل ما يتعلق بالمحافظة، خصوصاً في الجوانب الخدمية والمعيشية والأمنية والعسكرية، وأحوال المواطنين، والتحديات القائمة التي تواجهها والدعم المطلوب من الحكومة لتنفيذ معالجات عاجلة في القضايا الملحة ذات الأولوية.
ووجه رئيس الوزراء قيادة السلطة المحلية بالتنسيق مع الوزارات والجهات ذات العلاقة، بتنفيذ عدد من المعالجات العاجلة المتصلة بحياة ومعيشة المواطنين، وفق الإمكانات المتاحة، مؤكداً ضرورة إعداد السلطة المحلية أهدافاً واضحة ومحددة وواقعية وقابلة للتنفيذ لتلبية حاجات المواطنين وتحقيق تطلعاتهم، وفق الأولويات الملحة.
من جانبه، أعرب محافظ أبين عن تقديره لاهتمام دولة رئيس الوزراء وما يبديه من حرص على متابعة أوضاع المحافظة وأداء السلطة المحلية، والحرص على بناء علاقة تكاملية مع الحكومة لتجاوز التحديات الراهنة، بما ينعكس على تحسين الأوضاع وتخفيف معاناة المواطنين.
The Yemeni Prime Minister, Salem Saleh bin Breik, emphasized the significant role played by local authorities in all liberated provinces in fulfilling their duties to provide services to citizens amid the exceptional circumstances the country is experiencing.
He noted the government's commitment, under the directives of the Presidential Leadership Council, to support local authorities, monitor and evaluate their performance, and strengthen their presence to enable them to assume their responsibilities in accordance with the powers granted to them, which can alleviate the suffering of citizens.
He stressed the necessity of fulfilling their responsibilities, getting closer to citizens, and working on the ground to identify the needs and hardships of citizens, as well as obligating executive offices to improve their performance in enhancing service levels. He pointed out that his government is keen on raising the efficiency of local authorities and promoting values of transparency and accountability, addressing all manifestations of imbalances, combating corruption, enforcing the authority and presence of the state, and working to achieve security and stability, protecting travelers and the movement of citizens, and ensuring the smooth flow of trucks, vehicles, goods, and fuel between provinces. He praised the local authority in Abyan for serving citizens according to available resources, urging it to exert and double efforts in this regard.
This came during his reception in the temporary capital of the Governor of Abyan, Major General Abu Bakr Hussein, who presented the Prime Minister with a complete picture of the situation in Abyan through a comprehensive report on everything related to the province, particularly in the service, living, security, and military aspects, the conditions of citizens, and the existing challenges it faces, along with the support required from the government to implement urgent solutions to pressing priority issues.
The Prime Minister directed the local authority leadership to coordinate with the relevant ministries and entities to implement a number of urgent solutions related to the lives and livelihoods of citizens, according to available resources, emphasizing the necessity for the local authority to set clear, specific, realistic, and actionable goals to meet the needs of citizens and achieve their aspirations, in line with urgent priorities.
For his part, the Governor of Abyan expressed his appreciation for the Prime Minister's interest and his commitment to following up on the situation in the province and the performance of the local authority, as well as his eagerness to build a complementary relationship with the government to overcome current challenges, which would reflect positively on improving conditions and alleviating the suffering of citizens.
