About 25 people were killed and 90 others were injured when the Israeli occupation army opened fire today (Wednesday) on gatherings of Palestinians at the Netzarim checkpoint, which divides the Gaza Strip into northern and southern halves, while they were trying to obtain humanitarian aid.

Eyewitnesses confirmed the presence of several dead at the site, whom medical teams could not reach due to the intensity of the Israeli fire.

Local sources reported that the Israeli army carried out a series of airstrikes targeting the Nuseirat area in the middle of Gaza, resulting in the deaths of two Palestinians and injuries to several others.

The occupation forces continued their airstrikes on Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip and areas in northern Gaza with intensity, along with shelling from naval vessels on the western coast of the Muwasi area in Khan Younis. Medical sources announced the death of four Palestinians in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the tents of displaced persons in the Muwasi area of Khan Younis.

About 60 Palestinians were also killed yesterday (Tuesday) by Israeli fire, most of them while trying to obtain food near the American distribution point in Netzarim.

Israeli massacres have been repeated over the past two weeks against civilians as they sought to obtain aid from distribution centers currently managed by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. The new distribution foundation sparked sharp criticism from the United Nations and relief organizations, which considered that the distribution mechanism adopted two weeks ago by that American-Israeli "foundation" was ineffective.
