The occupation forces committed a new massacre today (Saturday) in the provinces of Rafah and Khan Younis, resulting in the deaths of 17 people. The Palestinian news agency "Wafa" reported that 12 people were killed and more than 40 others were injured due to an Israeli bombardment that targeted the tents of displaced persons west of Khan Younis city, including 4 from one family (the father, mother, and their two sons). It added that 5 citizens were killed and others were injured by Israeli army gunfire near a aid center west of Rafah city.
It pointed out that the number of fatalities caused by the occupation forces while trying to obtain food from the 27th of last month until today has reached 115 dead, more than 580 injured, and 9 missing.
On the first day of Eid al-Adha, 33 citizens were killed in Israeli airstrikes and shelling on several areas in the Gaza Strip.
The agency stated: Since October 7, 2023, the occupation has been committing acts of genocide in the Gaza Strip, resulting in more than 180,000 martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women, and more than 11,000 missing. It confirmed that there are hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and famine that has claimed many lives, including children, in addition to widespread destruction.
Meanwhile, global newspapers and websites criticized the mechanism used by Israel, supported by the U.S., to distribute aid in Gaza, with some warning that this institution is unqualified to deal with the situation in the devastated enclave.
The "New York Times" confirmed that the mechanism that Israel promised would solve the crisis of aid reaching civilians has been operating incorrectly since its activation, as distribution sites quickly turned into a source of threat to the lives of those seeking to secure a little food, with scenes of chaos and death spreading due to the Israeli plan that was supposedly designed to relieve civilians.
The British newspaper "Independent" reported warnings from relief workers that this institution, tasked by Israel with managing aid, is unqualified to handle the complex humanitarian situation.
Spokespeople for the newspaper pointed out that aid distribution centers have had to close multiple times since they began operations due to deadly incidents, raising doubts about their ability to alleviate the hunger crisis in Gaza.
The British "Guardian" published a report about what it considered an acknowledgment from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (wanted by the International Criminal Court) of arming and supporting a militia within Gaza accused of looting aid to undermine Hamas's authority.
For its part, the Israeli newspaper "Haaretz" discussed a plan to displace Palestinians within the West Bank, confirming that it has never been easier than it is now, as the goal of settler violence has become clear, and evacuating a village of its Palestinian residents requires only a group of extremist youths. It pointed out that the prevailing political climate, along with the ongoing war on Gaza, facilitates the advancement of the settlement project and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank.
