عثرت الشرطة الأمريكية، (الإثنين)، على 16 زجاجة «مولوتوف» إضافية في المنطقة التي رُصد منفذ هجوم ولاية كولورادو فيها، وفقاً لمصادر في إنفاذ القانون نقلت عنها شبكة «سي إن إن».
وأوضحت المصادر أن منفذ الهجوم محمد صبري سليمان كان يرتدي سترة واقية فوق قميصه، ويحمل رشاش حدائق مملوءاً بالبنزين.
وأضاف المسؤولون لـ«سي إن إن»، أن العديد من الشهود قالوا إنه كان يبدو كبستاني، واستخدم مرشّ الحديقة كـ«قاذف لهب مؤقت»، على ما يبدو، برشّ البنزين باتجاه المتظاهرين وهو يحمل ولاعة أمام سيل الوقود.
ووصل سليمان إلى منطقة الحادثة حوالى الساعة الواحدة ظهراً بالتوقيت المحلي، وظل هناك قبل أن يُلقي عبوتين حارقتين على أشخاص في مسيرة مؤيدة لإسرائيل، وفقاً للمصادر الأمنية.
ويعتقد المحققون أن سليمان توقف في محطات الوقود بالمنطقة قبل الهجوم، لتعبئة الزجاجات ورشاش الحديقة.
وأفاد شهود عيان أن سليمان خلع سترته وقميصه لأنهما اشتعلا أثناء الهجوم، وفقاً للشرطة. ونُقل سليمان إلى مستشفى محلي بعد اعتقاله بسبب الحروق التي أصيب بها في يديه أثناء الهجوم.
ووُجهت اتهامات إلى سليمان بارتكاب جريمة كراهية، بحسب بيان رسمي نقلته شبكة «سي إن إن» أمس.
وقد وُجهت إليه تهمة «جريمة كراهية تتعلق بالعرق أو الدين أو الأصل القومي الفعلي أو المتصور»، بحسب ما جاء في الإفادة.
The American police discovered 16 additional "Molotov" bottles in the area where the perpetrator of the Colorado attack was spotted, according to law enforcement sources cited by CNN.
The sources clarified that the attacker, Muhammad Sabri Suleiman, was wearing a bulletproof vest over his shirt and was carrying a garden sprayer filled with gasoline.
Officials told CNN that several witnesses said he appeared to be a gardener and used the garden sprayer as a "makeshift flamethrower," apparently spraying gasoline toward the protesters while holding a lighter in front of the stream of fuel.
Suleiman arrived at the scene around 1 PM local time and remained there before throwing two incendiary devices at people in a pro-Israel march, according to security sources.
Investigators believe Suleiman stopped at gas stations in the area before the attack to fill the bottles and the garden sprayer.
Eyewitnesses reported that Suleiman removed his vest and shirt because they caught fire during the attack, according to police. Suleiman was taken to a local hospital after his arrest due to burns he sustained on his hands during the attack.
Suleiman has been charged with a hate crime, according to an official statement reported by CNN yesterday.
He has been charged with "a hate crime related to actual or perceived race, religion, or national origin," as stated in the report.
