فيما طالبت أكثر من 300 شخصية عامة بريطانية رئيس الوزراء البريطاني كير ستارمر في رسالة بإنهاء تواطؤ بلاده مع جرائم إسرائيل في غزة وتعليق مبيعات الأسلحة البريطانية لها والسماح الفوري بوصول المساعدات لغزة، دعا زعيم المعارضة الإسرائيلية يائير لابيد اليوم (الخميس) إلى ضرورة قبول تل أبيب خطة المبعوث الأمريكي الخاص ستيف ويتكوف علناً وفوراً.
ونقلت صحيفة «يديعوت أحرونوت» الإسرائيلية عن لابيد قوله: «على إسرائيل أن تقبل الخطة التي نشرها الوسيط الأمريكي ستيف ويتكوف هذا الصباح، علناً وفوراً»، مضيفاً: «أُذكّر رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو بأنني أؤيد قبول المخطط، حتى لو حاول وزير الأمن القومي إيتمار بن غفير ووزير المالية بتسلئيل سموتريتش إفساده».
وقالت القناة 13 الإسرائيلية إن رئيس الحكومة بنيامين نتنياهو يعقد مساء اليوم اجتماعاً لبحث مقترح الصفقة الجديد والمفاوضات لإطلاق سراح الأسرى.
وكان وزير الأمن القومي الإسرائيلي إيتمار بن غفير قد زعم أن إيقاف القتال خطأ تاريخي ولا يجوز التراجع، ملوحاً بالانسحاب من الحكومة إذا تجاوزت خطّه الأحمر الذي يدركه نتنياهو جيداً.
وأشار إلى أن موقفه من صفقات التبادل واضح جدا، مشدداً على ضرورة استمرار الحرب وسحق الفلسطينيين، وأيده في ذلك وزير البيئة الإسرائيلية الذي قال إن ثمن الصفقة باهظ لكن الحكومة تعمل على إعادة مزيد من الأسرى.
بدورها، قالت عائلات الأسرى الإسرائيليين: «لا توجد خطة حقيقية للحرب في غزة وما لم ينجز خلال عام ونصف العام فلن ينجز لاحقاً»، موضحة أنه كان بإمكان نتنياهو اتخاذ قرار يؤدي لصفقة شاملة لكنه قرر استمرار الحرب لاعتبارات خارجية.
وتقدر تل أبيب وجود 58 أسيرا إسرائيليا في غزة، منهم 20 أحياء، في حين يقبع بسجونها أكثر من 10 آلاف و100 فلسطيني يعانون تعذيباً وتجويعاً وإهمالاً طبياً أودى بحياة عشرات منهم، حسب تقارير حقوقية وإعلامية فلسطينية وإسرائيلية.
وكان ويتكوف قد قدم مقترحاً جديداً لوقف إطلاق النار في قطاع غزة لمدة 60 يوماً، يشمل إطلاق سراح 10 أسرى إسرائيليين مقابل إطلاق سراح 125 من الأسرى الفلسطينيين المحكوم عليهم بالمؤبد، بحسب ما ذكرته وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية.

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir claimed that stopping the fighting is a historical mistake and that there should be no retreat, threatening to withdraw from the government if Netanyahu crosses his red line, which he knows very well.
He indicated that his position on exchange deals is very clear, emphasizing the necessity of continuing the war and crushing the Palestinians, a sentiment echoed by the Israeli Minister of the Environment, who stated that the price of the deal is high but the government is working to bring back more prisoners.
For their part, the families of Israeli prisoners said: "There is no real plan for war in Gaza, and what has not been achieved in a year and a half will not be achieved later," explaining that Netanyahu could have made a decision leading to a comprehensive deal but chose to continue the war for external considerations.
Tel Aviv estimates that there are 58 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, of whom 20 are alive, while more than 10,100 Palestinians are held in its prisons, suffering from torture, starvation, and medical neglect that has led to the deaths of dozens of them, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.
Witkoff had proposed a new ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for 60 days, which includes the release of 10 Israeli prisoners in exchange for the release of 125 Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, according to Israeli media reports.
