رفعت الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية رسميِّاً مساء أمس (الجمعة)، العقوبات الاقتصادية عن سورية، في خطوة تُعد تحولاً إستراتيجياً في السياسة الأمريكية تجاه دمشق، وتمهّد لمرحلة جديدة من الانفتاح الاقتصادي وإعادة الإعمار في البلاد.
وجاء في البيان الصادر عن وزير الخزانة الأمريكي سكوت بيسنت، أن هذا القرار يعكس التزام الولايات المتحدة بدعم جهود الاستقرار والتنمية في سورية.
وأوضح بيسنت أن الإجراءات التي اتُّخذت من شأنها أن تضع سورية على مسار إيجابي نحو مستقبل أكثر إشراقاً وازدهاراً، داعياً إلى استثمار هذه اللحظة المفصلية؛ لدفع عجلة التنمية، وتعزيز الشفافية، وتحقيق المصالحة الوطنية.
ويُتوقع أن يكون لهذا القرار انعكاسات اقتصادية واسعة النطاق، بما في ذلك فتح المجال أمام الاستثمارات الدولية، وتعزيز فرص إعادة الإعمار في عدد من القطاعات الحيوية داخل سورية.
The United States of America officially lifted economic sanctions on Syria yesterday evening (Friday), in a move considered a strategic shift in American policy towards Damascus, paving the way for a new phase of economic openness and reconstruction in the country.
