The Sudanese army forces continue their advance today (Tuesday) in the Salah area south of the city of Omdurman. Military sources and eyewitnesses confirmed that the army carried out sweeping operations in the neighborhoods of the area, which represent the last points of presence for the Rapid Support Forces in the capital, Khartoum.

Sudanese army spokesman Nabil Abdullah stated that the armed forces are continuing a large-scale military operation in the south and west of Omdurman. He confirmed in a statement that the Sudanese army forces are close to declaring full control over Khartoum State.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing explosions and seeing columns of smoke rising from the vicinity of the College of Education at the University of Khartoum in Omdurman this morning.

The Sudanese army had established control over the Salah neighborhood, the last stronghold of the Rapid Support Forces in Khartoum State. Soldiers from the army and supporting forces published video clips claiming they were from inside the Rapid Support Forces' headquarters in Salah and from the roads of the neighborhood located south of Omdurman.

The newspaper "Sudan Tribune" quoted local sources as saying that the army controls the Salah neighborhood after fierce battles with the Rapid Support Forces. The sources added that the army has regained the "Wad Bakrawi" station, the "Qiya" area, and the main Salah market.

The army has established control over a Rapid Support Forces camp in the Salah area, marking the last military base in Khartoum State for the forces that have been fighting the Sudanese army since mid-April 2023.
