نفت السفارة الأمريكية في طرابلس الأنباء التي أفادت بأن الإدارة الأمريكية تعكف على خطة لنقل الفلسطينيين من قطاع غزة إلى ليبيا.
وقالت السفارة الأمريكية في منشور على منصة إكس: «التقرير حول خطط مزعومة لنقل سكان غزة إلى ليبيا عار عن الصحة».
وكانت شبكة «إن بي سي نيوز» ذكرت الخميس الماضي أن إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب تعمل على خطة لنقل ما يصل إلى مليون فلسطيني من قطاع غزة إلى ليبيا بشكل دائم.
وقالت الشبكة الإخبارية إنها استندت في تقريرها على 5 أشخاص مطلعين بينهم شخصان على دراية مباشرة بالأمر ومسؤول أمريكي سابق.
وقال شخصان مطّلعان مباشرة على الخطط ومسؤول أمريكي سابق إن الخطة قيد النظر بجدية لدرجة أن الإدارة الأمريكية ناقشتها مع القيادة الليبية.
وفي مقابل إعادة توطين الفلسطينيين، قد تطلق واشنطن مليارات الدولارات من الأموال الليبية المجمدة لدى الولايات المتحدة منذ أكثر من عقد، بحسب ما قاله الأشخاص الثلاثة.
حكومة الوحدة الوطنية المعترف بها دوليا والتي تتخذ من طرابلس مقرا لها، لم تعلق حتى الآن على هذه التصريحات.
The American embassy in Tripoli denied reports that the U.S. administration is working on a plan to transfer Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Libya.
The American embassy stated in a post on X platform: "The report about alleged plans to transfer Gaza residents to Libya is false."
Last Thursday, NBC News reported that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is working on a plan to permanently relocate up to one million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Libya.
The news network said it based its report on five informed individuals, including two with direct knowledge of the matter and a former U.S. official.
Two individuals with direct knowledge of the plans and a former U.S. official stated that the plan is being considered seriously to the extent that the U.S. administration discussed it with Libyan leadership.
In exchange for resettling the Palestinians, Washington may release billions of dollars of Libyan funds frozen in the United States for over a decade, according to the three individuals.
The internationally recognized Government of National Unity, based in Tripoli, has not yet commented on these statements.
