In a step within the efforts of the new Syrian administration to achieve the unity of arms and monopolize it in the hands of the state, Syrian Defense Minister Marhaf Abu Qasra announced today (Saturday) the merging of all different military units under the Syrian Ministry of Defense.
Abu Qasra wrote on the "X" platform: This great achievement would not have been possible without the concerted efforts of everyone, appreciating the efforts of the leaders and soldiers of the military units for their fruitful cooperation and high commitment.
Abu Qasra stated: Based on the importance of institutional work, we emphasize the necessity for the remaining small military groups to join the ministry within a maximum period of 10 days from the date of this announcement, as a continuation of the efforts for unification and organization, warning against delays in joining the ministry.
He added: Appropriate measures will be taken according to the applicable laws, in the framework of efforts to disarm completely and monopolize arms in the hands of the state.
Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara had stated in his speech at the National Dialogue Conference on February 25 that the unity of arms and its monopoly in the hands of the state is not a luxury, but a duty and obligation.
In March, the Syrian presidency announced the signing of an agreement for the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into the institutions of the Syrian state, affirming the unity of the country's territory and rejecting division. According to the Syrian presidency, President Ahmad al-Shara and SDF commander Mazloum Abdi signed the agreement, which stipulates a ceasefire across all Syrian territory.
