عثرت جهات البحث على أجزاء من بدلة غوص داخل البحر يرجع أنها تعود للغواص «وسام الزهراني» وقد تمزق أجزاء منها، وذلك مع استمرار بحث فرق حرس الحدود والغواصين المتطوعين لليوم السابع على التوالي عن وسام، الذي غرق قبالة شاطئ أبحر.
وكانت فرق حرس الحدود تلقت بلاغاً عن فقدان غواصين داخل البحر في منطقة أبحر، وفقد التواصل معهما أو مشاهدتهما على الرغم من أنهما من الغواصين المحترفين، وباشرت فرق البحث والإنقاذ الموقع لتعثر بمشاركة المتطوعين على جثمان الغواص فهد عرفات فيما تتواصل عمليات البحث عن الغواص وسام منصور الزهراني.
وشهدت عمليات البحث عن الغواص المفقود مشاركة مروحيات القوات البحرية لتمشيط البحر.
وتعود تفاصيل الحادثة إلى قيام 3 أصدقاء بالنزول للبحر في شاطئ منتجع شمال جدة، وبعد عودتهم لليابسة غادر أحدهم؛ لارتباطه بعمله، فيما عاد الزهراني وعرفات للغوص، ومع حلول المساء فُقد الاتصال معهما لتنطلق عمليات البحث التي انتهت بالعثور على جثمان فهد عرفات على الشاطئ، بينما لا يزال مصير وسام مجهولاً حتى لحظة إعداد التقرير.
وكشف براء العمودي ابن خال الغواص وسام الزهراني أن وسام من الغواصين المحترفين، ويتمتع بخبرة كبيرة في الغوص، ومدرب محترف، وأب لثلاثة أبناء، ونزل مع زميليه مساء يوم الأحد للغوص عن طريق أحد المنتجعات في أبحر شمال جدة، وفُقد الاتصال بهما بشكل مفاجئ في المساء، ما أثار القلق وبدأت على الفور عمليات البحث عنهما، مشيراً إلى العثور على أجزاء من بدلة غوص وسام في عمليات البحث الأخيرة.
وكشف خبراء في عمليات البحث والإنقاذ آليه عمليات البحث عن الغرقى في البحر، إذ يتم تقسيم المنطقة لمربعات كل منها تبلغ مساحته ميلاً بحريّاً واحداً، ويتم البحث باستخدام الزوارق والغواصين والطيران، ومن ثم تبدأ العمليات الحسابية بحساب سرعة الرياح والتيارات الهوائية في الماء وتحديد المكان المحتمل لوجود الغريق فيه، ويتم توجيه فرقة للبحث في كل النقاط المحتملة، وفق عملية بحث منسقة من قبل مختصين.
وتختلف مدة البحث في حالات الغرق حسب عوامل عدة، منها عمق المياه وظروفها، ودرجة حرارة الماء، ووجود تيارات مائية، ومهارات الغواصين، وغيرها. ويمكن أن تستغرق عملية البحث عن غريق ساعات أو أياماً عدة، وقد تمتد أحياناً إلى أسابيع، خوصاً في الحالات التي يصعب فيها تحديد موقع الغرق أو في حال وجود عوائق طبيعية أو تضاريس معقدة.

The Coast Guard teams received a report about missing divers in the sea in the Abhur area, and communication with them was lost despite them being professional divers. The search and rescue teams began operations at the site, leading to the discovery of the body of diver Fahd Arafat, while the search for diver Wissam Mansour Al-Zahrani continues.
The search operations for the missing diver have seen the participation of naval helicopters to patrol the sea.
The details of the incident trace back to three friends going into the sea at a resort beach north of Jeddah. After returning to shore, one of them left due to work commitments, while Al-Zahrani and Arafat returned to diving. As evening approached, communication with them was suddenly lost, prompting search operations that ended with the discovery of Fahd Arafat's body on the beach, while Wissam's fate remains unknown at the time of this report.
Barra Al-Amoudi, the cousin of diver Wissam Al-Zahrani, revealed that Wissam is a professional diver with extensive experience in diving, a professional trainer, and a father of three. He went diving with his colleagues on Sunday evening through a resort in Abhur, and communication with them was suddenly lost in the evening, raising concerns and prompting immediate search operations, noting that parts of Wissam's diving suit were found in the recent search efforts.
Experts in search and rescue operations explained the methodology for searching for drowning victims in the sea. The area is divided into squares, each covering an area of one nautical mile, and the search is conducted using boats, divers, and aerial support. Calculations are then made considering wind speed and water currents to determine the likely location of the drowning victim, and a team is directed to search each potential point, following a coordinated search operation by specialists.
The duration of search efforts in drowning cases varies based on several factors, including water depth and conditions, water temperature, the presence of water currents, diver skills, and others. The search for a drowning victim can take hours or several days, and may sometimes extend to weeks, especially in cases where it is difficult to determine the drowning location or in the presence of natural obstacles or complex terrain.
