أعربت وزارة الخارجية عن ترحيب المملكة العربية السعودية بتوقيع جمهورية باكستان الإسلامية وأفغانستان على وقف فوري لإطلاق النار، وإنشاء آليات تُعنى بترسيخ السلام والاستقرار الدائمين بين البلدين، خلال جولة المفاوضات المنعقدة بالدوحة.
وقالت الخارجية في بيان: «تؤكد المملكة دعمها لجميع الجهود الإقليمية والدولية الرامية إلى تعزيز السلام والاستقرار، وحرصها الدائم على استتباب الأمن بما يحقق الاستقرار والازدهار للشعبين الباكستاني والأفغاني الشقيقين، وتتطلع إلى أن تفضي هذه الخطوة الإيجابية إلى وضع حد للتوترات على الحدود بين البلدين».
كما تثمن الوزارة المساعي الدبلوماسية المبذولة والدور البنّاء الذي قامت به كل من دولة قطر الشقيقة والجمهورية التركية في هذا الشأن.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's welcome for the signing of an immediate ceasefire by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Afghanistan, and the establishment of mechanisms aimed at consolidating lasting peace and stability between the two countries during the round of negotiations held in Doha.
The Foreign Ministry stated in a statement: "The Kingdom reaffirms its support for all regional and international efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability, and its constant keenness on establishing security that achieves stability and prosperity for the two brotherly peoples of Pakistan and Afghanistan, and looks forward to this positive step leading to an end to tensions along the borders between the two countries."
The ministry also appreciates the diplomatic efforts made and the constructive role played by both the sisterly State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey in this regard.
