اعتبر المواطن السعودي جابر اليامي، الذي أنقذ أحد المحلات التجارية من الاحتراق أمس الأول في الجبيل، أن ما دعاه لهذا الموقف النبيل هو حسّه الوطني والمجتمعي والإنساني، مؤكدا أن التصوير هو لتوثيق الحادثة ومنعا لأي اتهامات قد تُوجه إليه.
وقال اليامي خلال حديثه لـ«عكاظ»: الحمد لله أنني أنقذت المحل التجاري المختص بزينة السيارات من الحريق، وإنقاذ ما يقارب 6 – 7 سيارات داخله، وكذلك سكن عمالة بالقرب منه بالخلف.
وأضاف: أعتبر ذلك واجبا وحسّا وطبعا من طباع السعوديين المبادرين بتقديم المساعدة في كل حالاتهم مهما كانت الخطورة.

وعن تفاصيل القصة يقول اليامي: «أنا لست من سكان الجبيل ولكني زائر لها لعدة أيام وكنت بعد صلاة الفجر أمارس رياضة المشي، وشاهدت الحريق من خلف أبواب المحل وأنا على الرصيف واقتربت للتأكد ونداء من هم بالداخل، إذ توقعت وجود أحد ولكن لم يُرد علي، وأوقفت العديد من المارة ولم يتوقف أحد حينها غير شخص اسمه ممدوح الشمري، وهو الوحيد الذي وقف وقام بمساعدتي، حينها قررت كسر القفل وفتح الباب لإطفاء النار، بعدما تأكدت أن لا يوجد أحد بالداخل، وكنت متوقعا لاسمح الله وجود وفيات، وهذا ما دعاني لاستخدام التصوير بالجوال لإثبات كسر القفل وفتح الباب حماية لي وتوثيقا للحدث ولكي لا أتهم بأي شيء لا سمح الله».

وتابع اليامي: بالفعل قمت بكسر القفل ورفيقي ممدوح الشمري أكمل التصوير وأطفأت الجهاز المحترق وسحبته إلى خارج المحل بعد فصله من الكهرباء، والحمد لله لم يكن أحد بالداخل وقتها، وحضرت الجهات الأمنية بعدها للتأكد من إطفاء الحريق والحمد لله أنا في صحة الآن بعد أن مكثت تقريبا 12 ساعة بأحد مستشفيات الجبيل.
وعن المواقف الإنسانية يقول اليامي: ليست المرة الأولى لي وهناك قصص مساعدات كثيرة نتجلى فيها نحن السعوديين، ومنها قبل عدة سنوات على طريق الرياض – نجران، عائلة من اليمن الشقيق تعرضت لحادث مروري وقمت بمساعدة أبنائها الأربعة ونقلهم لمستشفى قريب. وأحب أن أتقدم بخالص الشكر والتقدير لخادم الحرمين الشريفين وولي العهد على ما نعيشه من رخاء وازدهار وأمن وأمان، وشهامة السعوديين ستبقى أصيلة وكما كان عنوان اليوم الوطني الـ95 عزنا بطبعنا وأصالتنا.
The Saudi citizen Jaber Al-Yami, who saved a commercial store from burning the day before yesterday in Jubail, considered that his motivation for this noble act was his national, community, and humanitarian sense, affirming that the filming was to document the incident and to prevent any accusations that might be directed at him.
Al-Yami said during his talk to "Okaz": Thank God I saved the commercial store specialized in car accessories from the fire, and rescued about 6 to 7 cars inside it, as well as the workers' accommodation nearby at the back.
He added: I consider this a duty and a natural instinct of Saudis who are proactive in providing assistance in all situations, no matter how dangerous they may be.

Details of the Story
Regarding the details of the story, Al-Yami says: "I am not a resident of Jubail, but I am visiting for a few days, and I was practicing walking after the Fajr prayer when I saw the fire from behind the store's doors while I was on the sidewalk. I approached to check and called out to those inside, as I expected someone to be there, but no one responded. I stopped many passersby, but no one stopped except for a person named Mamdouh Al-Shammari, who was the only one who stood by and helped me. At that point, I decided to break the lock and open the door to extinguish the fire after I confirmed that no one was inside. I was expecting, God forbid, to find fatalities, and that is what prompted me to use my phone to document the breaking of the lock and opening the door for my protection and to document the event so that I wouldn’t be accused of anything, God forbid.”

Al-Yami continued: Indeed, I broke the lock, and my companion Mamdouh Al-Shammari continued filming. I extinguished the burning device and pulled it outside the store after disconnecting it from the electricity. Thank God, there was no one inside at that time, and security authorities arrived afterward to ensure the fire was extinguished. Thank God, I am in good health now after spending about 12 hours in one of Jubail's hospitals.
Regarding humanitarian situations, Al-Yami says: This is not my first time; there are many stories of assistance where we Saudis shine. One of them was several years ago on the Riyadh-Najran road, where a family from our dear Yemen was involved in a traffic accident, and I helped their four children and transported them to a nearby hospital. I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for the prosperity, security, and safety we enjoy, and the nobility of Saudis will remain genuine, just as the theme of the 95th National Day was our pride in our nature and authenticity.
