حكايات تفوح بعبق التاريخ، تختزنها ذواكر وملامح السوق الشعبي في أحد رفيدة، الذي يُقام كل يوم أحد من كل أسبوع، ويعتبر من أهم المقومات التاريخية والاقتصادية والسياحية والتراثية في المحافظة منذ عقود عديدة من الزمن. مفردات تنسج قصص تعايش وتقارب الناس، وتنبض بالروح الشعبية وزخم التنوع الكبير، وهي شاهدة على الأهمية الجغرافية، ورغم ذلك إلا أنها لم تقرع جرس انطلاق قطار التطوير والتحسين والتأهيل على الوجه الذي يستحقه وينتظره.

إرث وتاريخ
قال علي القحطاني: «سوق أحد رفيدة الشعبي يمتلك في سجلاته إرثاً وتاريخاً أصيلاً خلال سنوات تواجده في وسط المحافظة، وكان مزدحماً وحيوياً وحافلاً بجميع ما يطلبه المشتري سواء من سكان المحافظة أو خارجها من محافظات عسير والمصطافين، ولكن كما ترى وللأسف بعدما تم نقله في موقعه الحالي منذ سنوات، قل الاهتمام به، ولا يزال غير مقبول أو مرضٍ، حيث لا يزال يناشد فيما البيع والشراء تحت أشعة الشمس الحارقة، وتنظيم البسطات شبه عشوائي، وعلى الجهة المعنية تشكيل لجنة مختصة للاطلاع عن قرب ومشاهدة المعاناة التي يتحملها جميع من يبيع فيه ومرتادوه، حيث من المفترض إنشاء محلات تجارية متنوعة ومناسبة في مواقع البسطات، وذات تنظيم هندسي يناسب طبيعة وتاريخ السوق الشعبي والمحافظة».
بسطات متناثرة
وأضاف عبدالله آل ناصر: «لا يزال البائعون والمشترون يناشدون وينتظرون تدخل الجهة المختصة لتنظيم وترتيب وإحياء السوق بشكل يحاكي تاريخه وأصالته، بدلاً من حاله الجاري في بسطات متناثرة وزحام مركبات وسطها، ونطالب بالتطوير في مواقع البسطات وإنشاء محلات متسعة وأرصفة داخلية وإضاءات متنوعة جاذبة أو على الأقل لو يتم إنشاء أرصفة عريضة محاطة بمظلات، لتتواصل عمليات البيع والشراء خلالها».
سوق يُعاني
وقالت أم ياسر: «السوق النسائي المجاور للسوق الشعبي يناشد من معاناة عدم وجود لوحات تعريفية أو إضاءات كافية أو طلاءات تجميلية مناسبة أو دورات مياه في الداخل بدلاً من وجودها خارج محيطة!». وأضافت: «الدرج الخارجي مزعج ومرهق للنساء، خصوصاً كبيرات السن، ومن المفترض أن تتم إعادة إنشائه بطريقة تمكنهن من الدخول بكل أريحية، وربما وضعه الحالي سيكون سبباً في سقوطهن لا قدر الله وإلحاق الضرر بهن».
Stories that exude the fragrance of history are stored in the memories and features of the popular market in Ahad Rufaida, which is held every Sunday of the week and is considered one of the most important historical, economic, tourist, and heritage components in the governorate for many decades. Nevertheless, it has not yet rung the bell for the launch of the development, improvement, and rehabilitation train in the way it deserves and is awaited.

Heritage and History
Ali Al-Qahtani said: “The Ahad Rufaida popular market has a rich heritage and authentic history recorded throughout its years in the heart of the governorate. It was bustling, lively, and full of everything buyers needed, whether from the residents of the governorate or from outside it, including visitors from Asir. However, as you can see, unfortunately, since it was moved to its current location years ago, interest in it has diminished, and it remains unacceptable or satisfactory, as buying and selling still take place under the scorching sun, and the organization of stalls is almost random. The concerned authority should form a specialized committee to closely observe and witness the suffering endured by all who sell there and its visitors, as it is supposed to establish diverse and suitable commercial shops in the locations of the stalls, with an architectural organization that fits the nature and history of the popular market and the governorate.”
Scattered Stalls
Abdullah Al-Nasser added: “Sellers and buyers are still appealing and waiting for the concerned authority to intervene to organize, arrange, and revive the market in a way that reflects its history and authenticity, instead of its current state with scattered stalls and the congestion of vehicles in between. We demand development in the locations of the stalls and the establishment of spacious shops, internal sidewalks, and attractive varied lighting, or at least the creation of wide sidewalks surrounded by canopies, to facilitate the buying and selling processes.”
A Market in Distress
Umm Yasser said: “The women’s market adjacent to the popular market is suffering from the lack of informational signs, adequate lighting, suitable decorative paint, or restrooms inside instead of having them outside its vicinity!” She added: “The external stairs are annoying and exhausting for women, especially the elderly, and it is supposed to be rebuilt in a way that allows them to enter comfortably. Perhaps its current state will be a reason for their falling, God forbid, and causing them harm.”
