صدر قرار وزير التعليم يوسف البنيان بتعيين الدكتورة منيرة بنت بدر المهاشير مدير عام التعليم بالمنطقة الشرقية، لتصبح أول سيدة تتولى هذا المنصب على مستوى المنطقة الشرقية، في خطوة تعكس ثقة القيادة في الكفاءات النسائية الوطنية ودورها البارز في قيادة القطاعات الحيوية.
وشغلت الدكتورة منيرة المهاشير منصب عميد عمادة التعليم الإلكتروني والتعلم عن بعد بجامعة الإمام عبدالرحمن بن فيصل منذ 2019، وقادت عدة مبادرات ومشاريع رائدة، ولعبت دورًا محوريًا في رئاسة لجنة إعداد وتطبيق سياسات الذكاء الاصطناعي بالجامعة، وعضوية لجنة سياسات الذكاء الاصطناعي في الجامعات والكليات الحكومية والأهلية بالأمانة العامة لمجلس شؤون الجامعات 2025.
مبادرات ومساهمات
وتعد الدكتورة منيرة من القيادات البارزة في مجال التعليم الإلكتروني والذكاء الاصطناعي، حيث أطلقت عدة مبادرات لتعزيز التعليم الرقمي والذكاء الإصطناعي، وساهمت في تطوير جودة العملية التعليمية الرقمية للطلاب من ذوي الإعاقة. كما حصلت على عدة زمالات وبرامج قيادية دولية مرموقة، بينها الزمالة البريطانية العليا في التعليم من بريطانيا مسار القيادات، وبرنامج الذكاء الاصطناعي واستراتيجية الأعمال بمعهد ماساتشوستس للتكنولوجيا، وبرنامج القيادة التنفيذية بجامعة أكسفورد، وبرنامج القادة التنفيذيين بمعهد ثندربيرد أريزونا، إضافة إلى برنامج «رائدات التعلم الإلكتروني» المسار القيادي.
الجوائز
وقد حصلت خلال مسيرتها على عدة جوائز محلية وعالمية في قيادة التغيير والإبتكار في التعليم الرقمي، من أبرزها: جائزة Anthology Catalyst Awards العالمية للتميز في قيادة التغيير (2024)، وجائزة الابتكار في التعليم الإلكتروني من المركز الوطني للتعليم الإلكتروني (2023)، وجائزة بلاك بورد للتميز في قيادة التغيير (2021)، بالإضافة إلى المركز الأول في جائزة تميز البحث العلمي بجامعة الإمام عبدالرحمن بن فيصل.
The decision by the Minister of Education, Yusuf Al-Bunyan, was issued to appoint Dr. Munira bint Badr Al-Muhashir as the Director General of Education in the Eastern Province, making her the first woman to hold this position at the level of the Eastern Province, in a move that reflects the leadership's confidence in the national women's competencies and their prominent role in leading vital sectors.
Dr. Munira Al-Muhashir has held the position of Dean of the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University since 2019, leading several pioneering initiatives and projects. She played a pivotal role in chairing the committee for preparing and implementing artificial intelligence policies at the university and was a member of the committee for artificial intelligence policies in government and private universities and colleges at the General Secretariat of the Council of University Affairs 2025.
Initiatives and Contributions
Dr. Munira is considered one of the prominent leaders in the field of e-learning and artificial intelligence, having launched several initiatives to enhance digital education and artificial intelligence. She contributed to improving the quality of the digital educational process for students with disabilities. She has also received several prestigious international fellowships and leadership programs, including the UK Higher Fellowship in Education from the UK Leadership Pathway, the Artificial Intelligence and Business Strategy program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Executive Leadership program at the University of Oxford, the Executive Leaders program at Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona, in addition to the "Women Leaders in E-Learning" leadership pathway program.
Awards
Throughout her career, she has received several local and international awards for leading change and innovation in digital education, including: the global Anthology Catalyst Awards for Excellence in Leading Change (2024), the Innovation in E-Learning Award from the National Center for E-Learning (2023), the Blackboard Award for Excellence in Leading Change (2021), in addition to first place in the Research Excellence Award at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University.
