بمناسبة اليوم الوطني الخامس والتسعين للمملكة، يقدم المؤرخان والباحثان في التاريخ، د. سعد بن علي المرشدي، المهتم بتاريخ الجزيرة العربية، ود. عبير بنت فهد المهيلب، أستاذ التاريخ المساعد بجامعة القصيم، قراءة في هذه الذكرى الخالدة، التي تمثل منعطفًا تاريخيًا ونقلة حضارية كبرى في مسيرة الوطن، وتستدعي استحضار الماضي المجيد لبناء حاضر مشرق ومستقبل أكثر ازدهارًا.
ذاكرة تأسيس
في الحادي والعشرين من جمادى الأولى عام 1351هـ، الموافق 23 سبتمبر 1932م، أعلن الملك المؤسس عبد العزيز بن عبد الرحمن آل سعود – طيب الله ثراه – توحيد البلاد تحت اسم «المملكة العربية السعودية»، بعد مسيرة كفاح امتدت ثلاثين عامًا من البطولات والتضحيات.
ويصف د. سعد المرشدي ذلك الحدث بقوله: «إنه نقطة تحول تاريخية وحضارية نقلت البلاد من التمزق إلى الوحدة، ومن الضعف إلى القوة، حتى أصبحت المملكة اليوم نموذجًا رائدًا للوحدة الوطنية».
وعي وطني متجدد
وتوضح د. عبير المهيلب أن اليوم الوطني لا يقتصر على كونه ذكرى سياسية فحسب، بل هو ذاكرة إيجابية تُعزز قيم التضحية والانتماء، وتُرسخ التكامل المجتمعي والولاء للقيادة. وتقول: «إنه إطار جامع لتجديد الانتماء للوطن وترسيخ الهوية الوطنية في نفوس الأجيال، واستذكار جهود الملك عبد العزيز ورجاله المخلصين».
من التوحيد إلى البناء
منذ عهد المؤسس، مرّت المملكة بمراحل متتابعة من البناء والتطور، وصولاً إلى عهد خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبد العزيز وسمو ولي عهده الأمين الأمير محمد بن سلمان، حيث شهدت المملكة قفزات نوعية في الاقتصاد، والتعليم، والتقنية، وتحديث الأنظمة بما يواكب متغيرات العصر، إضافة إلى إطلاق رؤية المملكة 2030 التي أعادت صياغة التنمية على أسس حديثة ومستدامة.
رؤية 2030: امتداد حضاري
وترى د. عبير أن اليوم الوطني في نسخته الخامسة والتسعين يكتسب بُعدًا إستراتيجيًا من خلال اقترانه بمسيرة رؤية 2030، التي وضعت أسسًا للنهضة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية، وعززت الاستدامة باعتبارها ركيزة لمستقبل الوطن.
قيمة اجتماعية وثقافية
ويؤكد د. سعد المرشدي أن هذه المناسبة الوطنية لا تقتصر على الفعاليات الاحتفالية، بل تحمل قيمة اجتماعية وثقافية عميقة، إذ تُبرز الهوية الجامعة للمجتمع السعودي، وتُجسِّد التلاحم بين القيادة والشعب في مسيرة بناء وطن قوي ومتماسك.
فخر واعتزاز
ويجمع المؤرخون والباحثون في التاريخ على أن هذه المناسبة الخالدة تجدد مشاعر الاعتزاز بالوطن، وتؤكد مكانته الراسخة بين الأمم، وتدفع أبناءه للعمل المخلص ومواصلة البناء. وكما يقول د. سعد المرشدي: «كل عام والوطن بخير، شامخًا بوحدته، عزيزًا بقيادته، مزدهرًا بأبنائه».
On the occasion of the ninety-fifth National Day of the Kingdom, historians and researchers in history, Dr. Saad bin Ali Al-Murshidi, who is interested in the history of the Arabian Peninsula, and Dr. Abeer bint Fahd Al-Muhailib, Assistant Professor of History at Qassim University, present a reading of this eternal memory, which represents a historical turning point and a major civilizational leap in the nation's journey, and calls for recalling the glorious past to build a bright present and a more prosperous future.
Memory of Foundation
On the twenty-first of Jumada al-Awwal in the year 1351 AH, corresponding to September 23, 1932, the founding king Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud – may God have mercy on him – announced the unification of the country under the name "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," after a struggle that lasted thirty years filled with heroism and sacrifices.
Dr. Saad Al-Murshidi describes that event by saying: "It is a historical and civilizational turning point that moved the country from fragmentation to unity, from weakness to strength, until the Kingdom became today a leading model of national unity."
Renewed National Awareness
Dr. Abeer Al-Muhailib clarifies that National Day is not limited to being just a political memory, but it is a positive memory that enhances the values of sacrifice and belonging, and solidifies community integration and loyalty to leadership. She says: "It is a comprehensive framework for renewing belonging to the homeland and establishing national identity in the hearts of generations, while recalling the efforts of King Abdulaziz and his loyal men."
From Unification to Construction
Since the era of the founder, the Kingdom has gone through successive stages of construction and development, reaching the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during which the Kingdom witnessed qualitative leaps in the economy, education, technology, and the modernization of systems to keep pace with the changes of the era, in addition to launching Vision 2030, which redefined development on modern and sustainable foundations.
Vision 2030: A Civilizational Extension
Dr. Abeer believes that the National Day in its ninety-fifth version gains a strategic dimension through its association with the journey of Vision 2030, which laid the foundations for economic and social renaissance and enhanced sustainability as a pillar for the future of the homeland.

Dr. Saad Al-Murshidi emphasizes that this national occasion is not limited to celebratory events, but carries a deep social and cultural value, as it highlights the unifying identity of Saudi society and embodies the cohesion between leadership and the people in the journey of building a strong and cohesive nation.
Pride and Honor
Historians and researchers in history agree that this eternal occasion renews feelings of pride in the homeland, affirms its established position among nations, and motivates its people to work sincerely and continue building. As Dr. Saad Al-Murshidi says: "Every year, may the homeland be well, towering in its unity, cherished in its leadership, and flourishing with its sons."
