The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), is showcasing its role in "leveraging artificial intelligence as a transformative factor" during a high-level session at the side event of Digital Cooperation Day during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80) in New York City.

The session features the participation of the Deputy President of SDAIA, Engineer Sami bin Abdullah Al-Muqaim, along with several ministers and senior officials from governments, organizations, and technology companies from various countries around the world, organized by the United Nations Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies (ODET), in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

The session aims to highlight the role of artificial intelligence in driving inclusive development and enhancing multilateral international cooperation, as well as to shed light on the impact of partnerships between the public and private sectors in emerging technology fields, through showcasing innovative solutions and quality initiatives that enhance the inclusive digital economy and bridge the global digital divide.

Joining this session will be the Director-General of UNIDO, Gerd Müller, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy of the Republic of Kenya, William Kabogo Gitau, and the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Pedro Manuel Moreno, along with leaders from Microsoft, IBM, Deloitte, SAP, NVIDIA, and international startup companies.

The session will also witness the participation of the Executive Vice President for Computer Vision and Audio Technologies at SDAIA, Dr. Raed Al-Jadaan, who will present the Kingdom's experiences in leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance digital inclusivity and accelerate sustainable development, alongside global technology leaders.

This participation extends the Kingdom's leading role, represented by SDAIA, as a trusted international partner in UN efforts aimed at harnessing artificial intelligence to expand the scope of digital development and enhance its role in supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
