أعلنت الجمعية الفلكية بجدة، أن أمس (الأحد) كان آخر أيام الصيف فلكيًا، إذ تطوي الدول العربية، وكامل النصف الشمالي من الكرة الأرضية، صفحة فصل الصيف فلكيًا استعدادًا لحدوث الاعتدال الخريفي وبداية فصل الخريف اليوم (الإثنين).
وأكد رئيس الجمعية الفلكية بجدة المهندس ماجد أبو زاهرة، أهمية التنبه إلى أن دخول فصل الخريف لا يعني انخفاض درجات الحرارة مباشرة، بل يطرأ التغيير بشكل تدريجي خلال الأسابيع القادمة، لتبدأ درجات الحرارة بالانخفاض تدريجيًا حتى يصبح واضحًا خلال نوفمبر القادم.
وأوضح، أن الخريف يتميّز بكثرة تقلباته الجوية، إذ يُعد فترة انتقالية بين الصيف والشتاء، وتتقلب درجات الحرارة فيه باستمرار، ويُمثِّل البداية الفعلية لموسم الأمطار في العديد من الدول العربية بما فيها شبه الجزيرة العربية، وتزداد حالات عدم الاستقرار الجوي، وترتفع فرص هطول الأمطار الرعدية في منطقة الخليج العربي، لافتًا النظر إلى أن بداية فصل الخريف في الدائرة القطبية الشمالية ستضع حدًا لأشعة الشمس الصيفية المتواصلة، وتفتح المجال أمام أضواء الشفق القطبي لتبدأ دورة جديدة من الظواهر الطبيعية الساحرة في القطب الشمالي.
وكان المركز الوطني للأرصاد قد نبه من أمطار رعدية متباينة الشدة على أجزاء من 9 مناطق، والتوقع بهطول أمطار رعدية متوسطة إلى غزيرة تؤدي إلى جريان السيول مصحوبة بزخات من البرد، ورياح نشطة مثيرة للأتربة والغبار على أجزاء من مناطق جازان، عسير، الباحة، مكة المكرمة، والمدينة المنورة.

The Astronomical Society in Jeddah announced that yesterday (Sunday) was the last day of summer astronomically, as the Arab countries and the entire northern hemisphere of the Earth close the chapter on the summer season in preparation for the occurrence of the autumn equinox and the beginning of autumn today (Monday).
Engineer Majid Abu Zahra, the president of the Astronomical Society in Jeddah, emphasized the importance of noting that the onset of autumn does not mean an immediate drop in temperatures; rather, the change occurs gradually over the coming weeks, with temperatures beginning to decrease gradually until it becomes noticeable in November.
He explained that autumn is characterized by many weather fluctuations, as it is a transitional period between summer and winter, with temperatures constantly varying. It represents the actual beginning of the rainy season in many Arab countries, including the Arabian Peninsula, where cases of atmospheric instability increase, and the chances of thunderstorms rise in the Arabian Gulf region. He pointed out that the beginning of autumn in the Arctic Circle will put an end to the continuous summer sunlight and open the door for the aurora borealis to start a new cycle of enchanting natural phenomena in the Arctic.
The National Center of Meteorology had warned of varying intensity thunderstorms in parts of 9 regions, with expectations of moderate to heavy thunderstorms leading to flash floods accompanied by hail showers, and active winds stirring dust and sand in parts of the regions of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah.
