أعربت وزارة الخارجية عن ترحيب المملكة العربية السعودية باعتماد الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة إعلان نيويورك ومرفقاته، الصادر عن المؤتمر الدولي الرفيع المستوى لتسوية قضية فلسطين بالوسائل السلمية وتنفيذ حل الدولتين، الذي عُقد برئاسة مشتركة بين المملكة العربية السعودية وجمهورية فرنسا.
وقالت في بيان لها: «إن هذا القرار، والتصويت عليه بأغلبية كبرى من قبل 142 دولة، يؤكد الإجماع الدولي على الرغبة في المضي قدماً نحو مستقبل يعمه السلام، ويحصل فيه الشعب الفلسطيني على حقه المشروع بإقامة دولته المستقلة على حدود عام 1967م وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية».
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's welcome for the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the New York Declaration and its annexes, issued by the high-level international conference to resolve the Palestinian issue through peaceful means and implement the two-state solution, which was co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic.
It stated in a statement: "This decision, and the voting on it by a large majority of 142 countries, confirms the international consensus on the desire to move forward towards a future filled with peace, where the Palestinian people obtain their legitimate right to establish their independent state on the borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital."
