استضافت المملكة الاجتماع الأول للهيئات البحرية العربية، بالتنسيق مع المنظمة البحرية الدولية (IMO)، على هامش فعاليات المؤتمر العالمي الثاني لاستدامة الصناعة البحرية، في خطوة إستراتيجية تؤكد دور المملكة الريادي في قطاع النقل البحري.
ويهدف الاجتماع إلى توحيد الجهود وتعزيز التعاون الفني بين الهيئات البحرية العربية والمنظمة الدولية، ضمن إطار تطوير البرامج والشراكات المشتركة التي ترفع كفاءة العمل البحري العربي وتدعم الاستدامة والتطوير في القطاع.
وقاد الاجتماع الذي انطلق ضمن أعمال المؤتمر، كل من وكيل الهيئة العامة للنقل البحري المهندس عصام العماري، والمندوب الدائم للمملكة في المنظمة البحرية الدولية المهندس كمال الجنيدي، وتبوأ كل منهما موقعاً قيادياً بارزاً في تنظيم هذا اللقاء المهم، وبرزت الجهود في تأمين بيئة حوارية فاعلة، عززت من فرص التنسيق والتكامل بين الهيئات العربية، وفتحت آفاق التعاون الإقليمي والدولي.
ويأتي الاجتماع كجزء من مؤتمر SIMC25، المنصة العالمية التي تجمع قادة وصناع القرار والخبراء في النقل البحري والخدمات اللوجستية، ليعكس حرص المملكة على دعم الابتكار، وتعزيز التنمية المستدامة في قطاع النقل البحري.
The Kingdom hosted the first meeting of the Arab maritime authorities, in coordination with the International Maritime Organization (IMO), on the sidelines of the Second Global Conference on the Sustainability of the Maritime Industry, in a strategic step that confirms the Kingdom's leading role in the maritime transport sector.
The meeting aims to unify efforts and enhance technical cooperation between the Arab maritime authorities and the international organization, within the framework of developing programs and joint partnerships that raise the efficiency of Arab maritime work and support sustainability and development in the sector.
The meeting, which was launched as part of the conference activities, was led by the Deputy of the General Authority for Maritime Transport, Engineer Issam Al-Amari, and the permanent representative of the Kingdom to the International Maritime Organization, Engineer Kamal Al-Junaidi. Each held a prominent leadership position in organizing this important meeting, and efforts were highlighted in securing an effective dialogue environment that enhanced opportunities for coordination and integration among the Arab authorities, opening avenues for regional and international cooperation.
The meeting comes as part of the SIMC25 conference, the global platform that brings together leaders, decision-makers, and experts in maritime transport and logistics services, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to supporting innovation and enhancing sustainable development in the maritime transport sector.
