برعاية نائب أمير المنطقة الشرقية الأمير سعود بن بندر بن عبدالعزيز، دشن محافظ الخبر سليمان بن عبدالرحمن الثنيان اليوم (الخميس) أعمال المؤتمر الدولي الخامس لمستجدات أمراض السكري والسمنة (Saudi Endo 2025)، والذي تنظمه الجمعية السعودية للسكر والغدد الصماء ويستمر حتى السبت 6 سبتمبر 2025 بفندق المريديان في الخبر.
وتجول محافظ الخبر، في المعرض المقام واطلع على ما تقدمه الشركات من خدمات وتقنيات في مجال علاج أمراض السكري والسمنة والغدد الصماء.
وخلال الحفل ألقى المشرف العام على المؤتمر ورئيس مجلس إدارة الجمعية عبدالعزيز بن علي التركي، كلمة ذكر فيها أن هذا المؤتمر يأتي في وقت تزداد فيه أهمية البحث العلمي والتطور التكنولوجي في دفع عجلة التنمية والتقدم. وقال: نحن ندرك أن التحديات التي تواجه مجتمعاتنا اليوم تحتاج إلى حلول مبتكرة وفعالة، ولا يمكن تحقيق ذلك إلا من خلال التعاون المشترك بين الباحثين والعلماء.
وأضاف التركي «لقد أصبح مرض السكري من الأمراض المزمنة التي تؤثر على حياة الملايين حول العالم، ومعه تتزايد الحاجة إلى تعزيز جهود الوقاية والتوعية وتطوير تقنيات العلاج. ومن هنا، يبرز دور جمعيتنا في تقديم الدعم اللازم للمرضى والمختصين، وتعزيز الأبحاث العلمية والابتكار في هذا المجال».
وقدم المشرف العام على المؤتمر عبدالعزيز التركي، شكره لأمير المنطقة الشرقية الأمير سعود بن نايف بن عبدالعزيز، على جهوده الحثيثة في دعم الجمعية بجميع أنشطتها مما ساهم في إقامة المؤتمرات والندوات العلمية الخاصة في تعزيز الصحة والوقاية من أمراض السكر والغدد الصماء، ولنائب أمير المنطقة الشرقية الأمير سعود بن بندر بن عبدالعزيز، على شرف رعايته لهذا الحدث المهم، ولمحافظ محافظة الخبر سليمان بن عبدالرحمن الثنيان على تشريفه وحضوره المؤتمر.
وقال رئيس المؤتمر الدكتور راشد الجوير: «نحرص أن يكون هذا المؤتمر منصة علمية متميزة تتيح تبادل المعرفة والخبرات بين الخبراء والمتخصصين من مختلف أنحاء العالم. نسعى من خلال هذا الحدث إلى تسليط الضوء على أحدث الأبحاث والابتكارات العلمية في مجال السكر والغدد الصماء، وفتح آفاق جديدة لعلاج هذه الأمراض والوقاية منها».
ونوه الجوير إلى أن مرض السكري والغدد الصماء من أكثر الأمراض المزمنة انتشارًا وتأثيرًا على صحة الأفراد والمجتمعات. ولذلك، فإن تعزيز البحث العلمي وتطوير الإستراتيجيات العلاجية الحديثة يعد ضرورة قصوى لمواجهة هذا التحدي الصحي العالمي.
يذكر أن المؤتمر يتضمن 40 محاضرة وجلسة وورش عمل، يشارك في تقديمها أكثر من 60 طبيبًا من 6 دول عربية ودولية، لتقديم أكثر من 40 محاضرة وجلسة، والتي ستناقش 11 محورا أساسيا خلال فترة المؤتمر.
Under the patronage of the Deputy Emir of the Eastern Province, Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Khobar, Suleiman bin Abdulrahman Al-Thunayan, today (Thursday) inaugurated the fifth international conference on the latest developments in diabetes and obesity (Saudi Endo 2025), organized by the Saudi Diabetes and Endocrinology Society, which will continue until Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Meridian Hotel in Khobar.
The Governor of Khobar toured the exhibition and reviewed the services and technologies offered by companies in the field of treating diabetes, obesity, and endocrine diseases.
During the ceremony, the General Supervisor of the conference and Chairman of the Board of the Society, Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Turki, delivered a speech in which he mentioned that this conference comes at a time when the importance of scientific research and technological advancement is increasing in driving development and progress. He said: "We recognize that the challenges facing our societies today require innovative and effective solutions, and this can only be achieved through joint cooperation between researchers and scientists."
Al-Turki added, "Diabetes has become one of the chronic diseases affecting the lives of millions around the world, and with it, the need to enhance prevention efforts, awareness, and the development of treatment technologies is increasing. From here, our society's role in providing the necessary support to patients and specialists, and promoting scientific research and innovation in this field becomes prominent."
The General Supervisor of the conference, Abdulaziz Al-Turki, expressed his gratitude to the Emir of the Eastern Province, Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, for his diligent efforts in supporting the society in all its activities, which contributed to the establishment of conferences and scientific seminars aimed at promoting health and preventing diabetes and endocrine diseases, and to the Deputy Emir of the Eastern Province, Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, for honoring this important event, and to the Governor of Khobar, Suleiman bin Abdulrahman Al-Thunayan, for his attendance and presence at the conference.
The conference president, Dr. Rashid Al-Juwair, stated: "We strive for this conference to be a distinguished scientific platform that allows for the exchange of knowledge and experiences among experts and specialists from various parts of the world. Through this event, we aim to highlight the latest research and scientific innovations in the field of diabetes and endocrinology, and to open new horizons for the treatment and prevention of these diseases."
Al-Juwair noted that diabetes and endocrine diseases are among the most widespread chronic diseases affecting the health of individuals and communities. Therefore, enhancing scientific research and developing modern therapeutic strategies is an utmost necessity to face this global health challenge.
It is worth mentioning that the conference includes 40 lectures, sessions, and workshops, presented by more than 60 doctors from 6 Arab and international countries, discussing more than 40 lectures and sessions, which will address 11 main themes during the conference period.
