The Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), Dima Al-Yahya, received the Minister of Communications and Technology of the Syrian Arab Republic, Abdul Salam Haikal, and the accompanying delegation at the organization's headquarters in Riyadh.

Both parties emphasized the importance of exchanging best practices and experiences among the member states of the organization and the Syrian Arab Republic.

During the meeting, they discussed several topics focused on enhancing cooperation within the digital ecosystem in Syria and promoting joint opportunities in the digital economy.

They addressed the data-driven approach adopted by the Digital Cooperation Organization in supporting member states, its platforms for knowledge exchange and impact measurement, as well as its ability to connect Syria with a broader network of global digital stakeholders.

During the meeting, the organization reaffirmed its readiness to cooperate with Syria in its journey towards digital transformation, praised the ongoing national efforts towards economic openness, and emphasized the importance of enhancing partnerships that open markets, attract investments, and contribute to bridging the digital divide, through initiatives like Digital Foreign Direct Investment (DFDI).

Dima Al-Yahya highlighted the organization's commitment to ongoing cooperation that supports digital transformation efforts, knowledge exchange, and building a sustainable ecosystem that empowers individuals, entrepreneurs, and businesses in the region.

She reiterated that dialogue and cooperation with countries like the Syrian Arab Republic are essential to achieving the organization's mission of enabling digital prosperity for all.
