يواصل الفنان التشكيلي والخطاط السعودي ماجد عبدالله الغامدي، معلم الفنون والخط العربي في تعليم جدة، حضوره الفاعل في الساحة التشكيلية من خلال مشاركته في الملتقى العربي لفنون الخط العربي «عزف الحروف» في موسمه الثاني، الذي تستضيفه محافظة جدة بمشاركة عربية ودولية واسعة.
ويستمر الملتقى حتى 28 أغسطس الجاري، عارضا أكثر من 138 عملا فنيا لنحو 105 خطاطين وخطاطات من 13 دولة، من بينهم نخبة من فناني المملكة. ويهدف إلى إبراز جماليات الحرف العربي، ودعم الخطاطين والفنانين، والتعريف بمدارس هذا الفن وأساليبه المختلفة.
ويُعد الغامدي من الأسماء البارزة في تعليم الفنون والخط العربي بمدينة جدة، إذ قدّم عبر مسيرته العديد من الورش والدورات التدريبية لطلاب المدارس والمهتمين، وأسهم في اكتشاف وصقل مواهب شابة أصبحت اليوم جزءا من المشهد الفني المحلي. كما شارك في عدد من المعارض الفنية داخل المملكة، جامعا بين الحسّ التشكيلي وروحانية الحرف العربي.
وأكد المنسق العام للملتقى سعود خان أن «عزف الحروف» يرسخ قيم الحرف العربي في بيئة احترافية بعيدا عن المجاملات، مشيرا إلى أن اختيار الأعمال هذا العام تم عبر فرز دقيق بإشراف لجنة من كبار الخطاطين.
ويواكب الملتقى توجه المملكة ضمن رؤية 2030 لدعم الفنون البصرية بوصفها مكونا من الهوية الحضارية، وليكون منصة عالمية للحوار والإبداع والتطوير.
The Saudi visual artist and calligrapher Majid Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, a teacher of arts and Arabic calligraphy in Jeddah, continues his active presence in the artistic scene through his participation in the Arab Forum for Arabic Calligraphy Arts "The Melody of Letters" in its second season, hosted by the Jeddah Governorate with wide Arab and international participation.
The forum will continue until August 28 of this year, showcasing more than 138 artworks by around 105 male and female calligraphers from 13 countries, including a selection of artists from the Kingdom. It aims to highlight the aesthetics of the Arabic letter, support calligraphers and artists, and introduce the schools and various styles of this art.
Al-Ghamdi is considered one of the prominent names in teaching arts and Arabic calligraphy in Jeddah, having offered numerous workshops and training courses for school students and enthusiasts throughout his career, contributing to the discovery and refinement of young talents who have now become part of the local artistic scene. He has also participated in several art exhibitions within the Kingdom, blending artistic sensitivity with the spirituality of the Arabic letter.
The general coordinator of the forum, Saud Khan, confirmed that "The Melody of Letters" reinforces the values of the Arabic letter in a professional environment, away from flattery, noting that this year's selection of works was made through a meticulous sorting process supervised by a committee of senior calligraphers.
The forum aligns with the Kingdom's vision within Vision 2030 to support visual arts as a component of cultural identity, aiming to be a global platform for dialogue, creativity, and development.
