حقق المنتخب السعودي 3 جوائز عالمية في النسخة الـ18 من أولمبياد الفلك والفيزياء الفلكية الدولي 2025، (IOAA 2025)، الذي استضافته مدينة مومباي في الهند، بمشاركة نحو 300 طالب وطالبة يمثلون 64 دولة.
ومثّل المملكة في هذه المنافسة الدولية مؤسسة الملك عبدالعزيز ورجاله للموهبة والإبداع (موهبة)، بشراكة إستراتيجية مع وزارة التعليم، ووكالة الفضاء السعودية.
ونالت الطالبة جود باسم اللحياني من تعليم مكة المكرمة الميدالية الفضية، فيما حصلت الطالبة فجر حسن العبيدان من تعليم الأحساء، والطالب حسين حسن آل مبارك من تعليم المنطقة الشرقية على شهادتي تقدير.
وارتفع رصيد المملكة في هذه المنافسة الدولية التي تشارك فيها للمرة الثانية على التوالي إلى 6 جوائز عالمية، منها ميدالية فضية، و3 ميداليات برونزية، وشهادتا تقدير.
وأكدت «موهبة» أن هذا الإنجاز يجسّد ثمرة الشراكة الفاعلة مع وزارة التعليم ووكالة الفضاء السعودية، التي عملت على تأهيل وإعداد الطلاب منذ مراحل مبكرة، عبر برامج تدريبية متخصصة، واختبارات نظرية وعملية مكثفة، ومشاركة في معسكرات تأهيلية بإشراف خبراء ومختصين، ما أسهم في صقل مهاراتهم وتعزيز قدراتهم للمنافسة عالميا.
ويُعد الأولمبياد الدولي للفلك والفيزياء الفلكية من أبرز المنافسات العلمية التي تجمع نخبة من طلبة العالم الموهوبين في هذا المجال؛ بهدف تنمية معارفهم البحثية، وتبادل الخبرات، وتوسيع آفاقهم العلمية والمعرفية.
وتأتي هذه المشاركة لتؤكد التزام المملكة بدعم الكفاءات الوطنية الشابة وتمكينها من التميز في المجالات العلمية الدقيقة، تحقيقاً لمستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030 في بناء مجتمع معرفي قائم على الابتكار والإبداع، وتعزيز حضور المملكة على منصات التتويج العالمية.
The Saudi team achieved 3 international awards in the 18th edition of the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics 2025 (IOAA 2025), which was hosted in Mumbai, India, with the participation of about 300 students representing 64 countries.
The Kingdom was represented in this international competition by the King Abdulaziz and His Men Foundation for Talent and Creativity (Mawhiba), in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Saudi Space Agency.
Student Jud Bassam Al-Luhayani from the Education Department of Makkah received the silver medal, while student Fajr Hassan Al-Obaidan from the Education Department of Al-Ahsa and student Hussein Hassan Al-Mubarak from the Eastern Province Education Department received certificates of appreciation.
The Kingdom's tally in this international competition, in which it participated for the second consecutive time, has risen to 6 international awards, including one silver medal, 3 bronze medals, and two certificates of appreciation.
Mawhiba confirmed that this achievement embodies the fruit of effective partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Saudi Space Agency, which has worked on qualifying and preparing students from early stages through specialized training programs, intensive theoretical and practical tests, and participation in qualifying camps supervised by experts and specialists, contributing to honing their skills and enhancing their capabilities to compete globally.
The International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics is one of the most prominent scientific competitions that brings together a select group of talented students from around the world in this field, aiming to develop their research knowledge, exchange experiences, and broaden their scientific and cognitive horizons.
This participation reaffirms the Kingdom's commitment to supporting young national talents and empowering them to excel in precise scientific fields, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to build a knowledge-based society founded on innovation and creativity, and to enhance the Kingdom's presence on global award platforms.
