أقامت أمانة محافظة جدة، فعالية «سلامة البحر مسؤوليتنا» على شاطئ المستقبل في أبحر الشمالية، وذلك بالتزامن مع اليوم العالمي للوقاية من الغرق، الذي يصادف 25 يوليو من كل عام. وتهدف هذه الفعالية إلى نشر ثقافة السلوك الآمن خلال ممارسة الأنشطة البحرية، إضافة إلى تعزيز بيئة شاطئية أكثر أماناً واستدامة لمرتادي البحر.
من جانبه، أوضح وكيل الأمين للرقابة وحماية السواحل البحرية، الكابتن ثامر نحاس، أن الفعالية تأتي لإبراز الدور التوعوي والوقائي الذي تضطلع به الأمانة في حماية الأرواح، مع رفع مستوى الجاهزية الميدانية للتقليل من مخاطر الغرق، إلى جانب نشر الوعي بضرورة اتباع تعليمات السلامة، خصوصاً على الشواطئ المفتوحة والموسمية.
وتضمن البرنامج عروضاً عملية لسيناريوهات إنقاذ حية، إلى جانب ورش تدريبية على الإسعافات الأولية والإنعاش القلبي، فضلاً عن أنشطة ميدانية تفاعلية تستهدف جميع الفئات العمرية بهدف نشر ثقافة التعامل السليم مع البيئات المائية.
الفعالية شهدت حضور وتعاون عدة جهات مختصة، من بينها حرس الحدود، الاتحاد السعودي للإنقاذ والسلامة المائية، هيئة الصحة العامة (وقاية)، الهلال الأحمر السعودي، وجامعة الملك عبدالعزيز، إلى جانب فرق الإنقاذ التابعة للأمانة، في إطار جهود متكاملة لحماية المجتمع.
وأكدت الأمانة أن هذه المبادرة تأتي ضمن إستراتيجيتها الهادفة إلى تطوير منظومة السلامة البحرية، والحد من حوادث الغرق خصوصاً خلال مواسم الإقبال الكبير على الشواطئ.
ودعت الأمانة سكان وزوار جدة للمشاركة في الفعالية والاستفادة من البرامج التوعوية والأنشطة التفاعلية المتاحة، والمستمرة حتى مساء السبت، يومياً من الرابعة عصراً وحتى السادسة مساءً.
The Jeddah Governorate Secretariat held the event "Sea Safety is Our Responsibility" at Future Beach in North Abhur, coinciding with the World Drowning Prevention Day, which falls on July 25 each year. This event aims to promote a culture of safe behavior while engaging in marine activities, in addition to enhancing a safer and more sustainable beach environment for beachgoers.
For his part, the Assistant Secretary for Coastal Monitoring and Protection, Captain Thamer Nahas, explained that the event comes to highlight the awareness and preventive role that the secretariat plays in protecting lives, while raising the level of field readiness to reduce drowning risks, alongside spreading awareness of the necessity to follow safety instructions, especially on open and seasonal beaches.
The program included practical demonstrations of live rescue scenarios, in addition to training workshops on first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as well as interactive field activities targeting all age groups with the aim of promoting a culture of proper interaction with aquatic environments.
The event witnessed the presence and cooperation of several specialized entities, including the Border Guard, the Saudi Union for Rescue and Water Safety, the Public Health Authority (Weqaya), the Saudi Red Crescent, and King Abdulaziz University, alongside the secretariat's rescue teams, as part of integrated efforts to protect the community.
The secretariat confirmed that this initiative is part of its strategy aimed at developing the marine safety system and reducing drowning incidents, especially during peak beach seasons.
The secretariat invited the residents and visitors of Jeddah to participate in the event and benefit from the awareness programs and interactive activities available, which will continue until Saturday evening, daily from 4 PM to 6 PM.
