أعربت وزارة الخارجية عن ترحيب المملكة العربية السعودية بإعلان فخامة رئيس الجمهورية الفرنسية إيمانويل ماكرون عزم بلاده على الاعتراف بدولة فلسطين الشقيقة.
وأشادت المملكة بهذا القرار التاريخي الذي يؤكد توافق المجتمع الدولي على حق الشعب الفلسطيني في تقرير مصيره، وإقامة دولته المستقلة على حدود عام 1967م وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية، مشددةً على أهمية مواصلة اتخاذ الدول للخطوات التي تسهم في إنفاذ القرارات الدولية وتعزز الالتزام بالقانون الدولي.
وجددت المملكة دعوتها لبقية الدول التي لم تعترف بعد، لاتخاذ مثل هذه الخطوات الإيجابية والمواقف الجادة الداعمة للسلام وحقوق الشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's welcome to the announcement by His Excellency the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, regarding his country's intention to recognize the State of Palestine.
The Kingdom praised this historic decision, which reaffirms the international community's consensus on the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. It emphasized the importance of countries continuing to take steps that contribute to the implementation of international resolutions and enhance commitment to international law.
The Kingdom renewed its call to other countries that have not yet recognized Palestine to take such positive steps and serious positions that support peace and the rights of the Palestinian people.
