أمير جازان يزور بيت الحرفيين ويطلع على البرامج المقدمة للمستفيدين

The Prince of Jazan Region, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Abdulaziz, visited the House of Artisans today at the headquarters of the Heritage Authority, which is part of the authority's efforts to preserve cultural heritage and develop traditional handicrafts.

The Prince of Jazan was briefed on the various programs and training workshops offered by the House of Artisans, aimed at enhancing the skills of Saudi artisans, by training them on how to showcase the beauty of Saudi handicrafts while maintaining the authenticity of the crafts themselves.

He listened to a presentation from the General Director of the Heritage Authority branches in the Kingdom, Rustam bin Maqbool Al-Kubaisi, about the House of Artisans program, which has enrolled 30 artisans, and lasts for a year, including three crafts in its first phase: “the making of traditional caps, weaving of caps, and marine shell crafts.”

The program aims to bring traditional crafts back to the forefront and maintain their importance, with the participation of specialized trainers, to train young men and women to preserve these professions, and assist them in creating professional designs that meet market demands and are worthy of acquisition, alongside supporting workshops in entrepreneurship, innovation, packaging solutions, and marketing, as well as providing production workshops and a platform to showcase and sell the handcrafted products made by artisans.

The Prince of Jazan Region praised the efforts of the Heritage Authority in empowering the youth of the region and developing their skills in traditional handicrafts through the House of Artisans to align with “the Year of Handicrafts 2025,” especially since the region is rich in many traditional handicrafts that represent a rich cultural heritage for the area.
