أكد المندوب الدائم للمملكة لدى منظمة الأمم المتحدة السفير الدكتور عبدالعزيز محمد الواصل، موقف المملكة الثابت والداعم لأمن واستقرار أفغانستان، مشددًا على أهمية احترام سيادتها ووحدة أراضيها.
وأعرب السفير الواصل، خلال كلمة ألقاها في جلسة الجمعية العامة حول الوضع في أفغانستان، عن قلق المملكة إزاء التحديات الإنسانية والاقتصادية التي يواجهها الشعب الأفغاني، مشيرًا إلى ضرورة تكثيف جهود المجتمع الدولي؛ لتقديم الدعم اللازم والإغاثة الفورية، والحد من معاناة الشعب، وضمان حقوق النساء والفتيات.
وأشار إلى الدعم الإنساني الذي تقدمه المملكة للشعب الأفغاني من خلال مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة والأعمال الإنسانية، منوهًا بمخرجات مؤتمر مكانة المرأة في الإسلام، الذي استضافته مدينة جدة، وشدد على أهمية تمكين المرأة الأفغانية، وتعزيز حقوقها في التعليم والعمل والحياة العامة.
كما شدد على أهمية عدم السماح بتحول الأراضي الأفغانية إلى منصة للعمليات الإرهابية أو لتصدير المخدرات؛ لما لذلك من تهديد للأمن الإقليمي والدولي.
واختتم المندوب الدائم للمملكة لدى منظمة الأمم المتحدة كلمته، بالتأكيد على التزام المملكة بمواصلة دعم الجهود السياسية والإنسانية والتنموية الرامية إلى استقرار أفغانستان.

The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Al-Wasel, affirmed the Kingdom's steadfast position in support of the security and stability of Afghanistan, emphasizing the importance of respecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
During a speech delivered at the General Assembly session on the situation in Afghanistan, Ambassador Al-Wasel expressed the Kingdom's concern regarding the humanitarian and economic challenges faced by the Afghan people, pointing out the necessity of intensifying international efforts to provide the necessary support and immediate relief, to alleviate the suffering of the people, and to ensure the rights of women and girls.
He referred to the humanitarian support provided by the Kingdom to the Afghan people through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, highlighting the outcomes of the Conference on the Status of Women in Islam, which was hosted in Jeddah, and stressed the importance of empowering Afghan women and enhancing their rights in education, work, and public life.
He also emphasized the importance of not allowing Afghan territory to become a platform for terrorist operations or drug trafficking, as this poses a threat to regional and international security.
